Q: What is the Burberry Nova Check Cashmere Scarf?
A: It’s a classic Burberry scarf crafted from 100% cashmere and featuring the brand’s signature check pattern historically referred to as “Nova Check.” Exact colours, check scale and labels can vary by production year—please review our photos for the specific characteristics of this piece.

Q: What are the typical dimensions and fringe length?
A: Modern Burberry cashmere scarves are commonly around 168 x 30 cm (≈66 x 12 inches) with fringes of roughly 7–8 cm, though vintage pieces can vary slightly. Please check the Measurements section and listing photos for the precise size of this item.

Q: Is “Nova Check” the same as “Vintage Check” or “Classic Check”?
A: “Nova Check” is an older name for Burberry’s iconic check. Burberry now often refers to similar heritage patterns as “Vintage Check” or “Classic Check.” Variations in colour (e.g., camel/beige, greys) and scale exist across seasons and years—see our photos for the exact pattern on this scarf.

Q: Is it unisex and how can I style it?
A: Yes—Burberry cashmere scarves are widely worn by all genders. Style it draped, looped once or twice, tied in a Parisian knot, or belted over coats and blazers. The check pairs well with neutral outerwear (camel, black, navy) and elevates casual and smart looks alike.

Q: How soft and warm is cashmere, and will it itch or shed?
A: Cashmere is prized for its softness and warmth with a relatively light weight. Most people find it very comfortable; sensitivity varies by wearer. Natural fibres can develop light pilling with friction and may shed a little at first—minimise rubbing against rough fabrics and use a gentle cashmere comb if needed.

Q: How should I clean and care for it?
A: Dry clean is generally recommended for luxury cashmere. For light refreshes, air it after wear, brush off lint with a soft garment brush, and avoid perfumes/oils directly on the fibres. If it gets wet, blot gently and dry flat away from heat. Store folded in a breathable bag with cedar or lavender to deter moths; avoid prolonged sunlight and humidity.

Q: How can I tell if a Burberry scarf is authentic?
A: Authentic pieces typically feature quality cashmere, clean weaving, aligned checks, neatly twisted fringes, and correct brand/care labels. Older authentic scarves may read “Burberrys,” while newer read “Burberry,” and many cashmere scarves state “Made in Scotland.” No single detail is conclusive—A Retro Tale verifies authenticity through rigorous multi‑point checks of materials, construction and branding.

Q: Is the scarf reversible?
A: The woven check is visible on both sides, but most Burberry cashmere scarves are single‑layer, not designed as true reversible/double‑faced pieces. If a scarf is double‑faced, it will be specifically noted—please inspect our photos for this item’s front and reverse appearance.

Q: Does this pre‑owned scarf come with a box or dust bag?
A: Inclusions vary for vintage and second‑hand items. Please refer to the Accessories section and listing photos for exactly what is included. If original packaging or tags are not shown or mentioned, they are not included.

Q: Where is it made, and does it have a serial number or date code?
A: Burberry cashmere scarves are commonly made in Scotland; the care/brand label typically indicates the country of origin. Scarves do not have serial numbers or date codes. The presence or absence of specific labels is not the sole indicator of authenticity—A Retro Tale conducts thorough multi‑point authentication on every item.
