Q: What is the Cartier Demoiselle 20mm (2008)?
A: It’s a petite, square Cartier dress watch in stainless steel with a 20mm case, a pink monogram dial with Roman numerals, and the signature blue cabochon crown. Swiss‑made and elegantly proportioned, it’s ideal for refined everyday wear and occasions.

Q: What movement does this model typically use?
A: Most Cartier Demoiselle watches of this size and era are powered by a Swiss quartz movement. Exact calibre can vary; we’re happy to confirm the movement in this specific piece on request. Typical quartz battery life is around 2–3 years depending on use.

Q: How do I set the time on a quartz Demoiselle?
A: Gently pull the crown out one click, rotate to set the hands to the correct time, then push the crown back in firmly. There is no date on this dial, so no additional setting is required. If the crown feels tight, do not force it—contact a professional.

Q: Is it water‑resistant and can I wear it in the shower or swimming?
A: Vintage water resistance is not guaranteed. Treat it as splash‑resistant at best: avoid showering, swimming, or submersion. If light moisture resistance is desired, have a watchmaker replace gaskets and pressure‑test the watch, and always ensure the crown is fully pressed in before any contact with moisture.

Q: What wrist size will it fit, and can the bracelet be resized?
A: This watch fits a wrist up to approximately 16.25 cm. We can size the bracelet for you before dispatch. Additional links may be sourced subject to availability and cost—contact us with your wrist measurement for guidance.

Q: Does it have a sapphire crystal and the Cartier dial signature?
A: Many 2000s Cartier pieces feature a scratch‑resistant sapphire crystal. Cartier dials often carry a subtle “Cartier” micro‑signature within one of the Roman numerals (commonly at VII), though placement can vary by reference. We can confirm the crystal type and dial signature on this example upon request.

Q: How can I verify authenticity on a Cartier Demoiselle?
A: Look for crisp dial printing and Roman numerals, the blue cabochon crown, “Swiss Made” marking, high‑quality case/bracelet finishing, and correct case‑back engravings. Buy from trusted specialists—A Retro Tale authenticates every item and backs purchases with our guarantee.

Q: How should I care for and clean the watch?
A: Wipe the case and bracelet with a soft microfibre cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, alcohol, solvents, and perfume exposure. Keep the watch away from strong impacts and prolonged heat. For battery changes or servicing, use a qualified watchmaker to preserve seals and finish.

Q: Is the 20mm Demoiselle considered a ladies’ watch, and can it be worn unisex?
A: Historically marketed as a ladies’ size, the 20mm case offers a petite, elegant profile that anyone who prefers a discreet, refined watch can wear. Fit is a matter of personal style and wrist size.

Q: What is included with this piece?
A: It is delivered with a box (please note the inside leather shows flaking, typical of vintage boxes). If you require additional documentation or photos, contact us and we’ll be happy to assist.
