Q: Is this the automatic version of the Cartier Santos Carrée?
A: Yes. Reference 2961 is commonly associated with the automatic Santos Carrée rather than a quartz version, and this watch is listed with an automatic movement and date display. ([watchpatrol.net](https://www.watchpatrol.net/discover/brands/cartier/santos-carree/))

Q: How does the 29 mm LM size wear on the wrist?
A: Although the case is described as 29 mm, the square shape and longer overall span mean it tends to wear larger than the number suggests. This specific piece is listed as fitting a 17 cm wrist or smaller. Q: Is this watch considered unisex?
A: Yes. Vintage Santos Carrée watches in this size are widely viewed as classic unisex pieces. On the wrist, it will feel more compact and dressy than many modern sports watches, which is part of its appeal. ([watchuseek.com](https://www.watchuseek.com/threads/cartier-santos-mens-29mm.5001465/))

Q: What are the key design details of this watch?
A: This watch combines stainless steel and 18k yellow gold with a white Roman numeral dial, a blue cabochon crown, and the Santos line’s signature square profile with exposed screws and an integrated bracelet. ([cartier.com](https://www.cartier.com/en-us/santos.html))

Q: Can I wear this vintage Santos every day, including in water?
A: It can work well as an everyday watch, but vintage pieces should be treated with extra care around water. Cartier notes that water resistance depends on seals that naturally age and recommends regular testing, so we would advise avoiding swimming or full water exposure unless the watch has been pressure-tested very recently. Q: How do I wind and set an automatic Cartier Santos?
A: If worn daily, an automatic Cartier generally does not need manual winding. If it has stopped, Cartier advises winding it manually to restart it, and after setting the time the crown should be pushed fully back into place to help maintain water resistance. ([userguide.cartier.com](https://www.userguide.cartier.com/WHRO0002.html))

Q: Does a vintage Cartier Santos need servicing?
A: Yes. Cartier recommends a functional check every six years, and the brand also offers restoration services for vintage watches, subject to assessment and parts availability. ([cartier.com](https://www.cartier.com/en-gb/services/watches/day-to-day-advice/care-recommendations))

Q: What is the condition of this watch, and what product information is included?
A: This piece is listed in very good overall condition with light traces of use, while scratches are noted on the case and bracelet. The internal condition is described as very good. It is sold with no additional product information included.
