Q: What is the Cartier Vendome Paris 26mm Extremely Rare Watch?
A: It’s a vintage Cartier ladies’ watch featuring a classic 26mm round case crafted in 18ct yellow gold, a white “Paris”‑signed dial, and a refined manual‑winding movement. This piece is paired with a Cartier leather strap and the original Cartier gold‑plated buckle, offering elegant, collector‑grade appeal.

Q: What does the “Paris” dial signify and why is it desirable?
A: “Paris” printed on the dial (typically at 6 o’clock) denotes a period and provenance associated with Cartier’s Paris ateliers and retail network. Paris‑signed dials are sought after by collectors for their vintage authenticity and historical charm.

Q: Which movement does it use, and how do I wind and set the time?
A: It uses a manual (hand‑wound) movement. Wind the crown clockwise with gentle turns—around 20–30—until you feel light resistance; do not force beyond that. To set the time, pull the crown out to the setting position and turn the hands to the correct time, then push the crown back in. This dial is typically time‑only (no date). Avoid winding while on the wrist to reduce strain on the stem and crown.

Q: Is it water‑resistant and can I wear it in the rain or swim with it?
A: As a vintage watch, water resistance cannot be guaranteed without recent servicing and pressure testing. Treat it as splash‑resistant at best and avoid swimming, showering or submersion. Keep the leather strap away from moisture to preserve its condition and the plating on the buckle.

Q: What materials are used for the case and buckle?
A: The case is 18ct yellow gold. The original Cartier buckle supplied with this watch is gold‑plated (not solid gold). Light plating wear is normal on vintage pieces; re‑plating can be done by specialists if desired.

Q: What type of crystal does it have?
A: Cartier Vendome models of this era may feature either mineral or sapphire crystals, depending on the specific reference and production period. If you’d like us to confirm the crystal on this exact watch, please contact us and we’ll verify it for you.

Q: Will the 26mm size fit my wrist, and can the strap be changed or sized?
A: 26mm suits smaller wrists or anyone who prefers a refined vintage proportion. The leather strap adjusts via the buckle and can be swapped for another genuine Cartier strap or a high‑quality aftermarket option that matches the correct lug width and fitting style. Share your wrist measurement and we’ll advise on fit and strap options.

Q: How should I care for the 18ct gold case and leather strap?
A: Wipe surfaces gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid abrasive polishes, solvents, perfumes or lotions, which can mark leather and degrade plating. Store away from humidity and extreme heat. Minor gold scratches are normal with wear; a professional can perform light refinishing if preferred.

Q: What accuracy and service interval should I expect from a vintage manual watch?
A: Performance varies with age and service history, but a healthy movement should keep reliable time for a vintage piece. A routine service every 5–10 years is generally recommended, or sooner if you notice issues (e.g., running fast/slow, reduced power reserve, condensation). Keep the watch away from strong magnets and wipe it clean after wear.
