Q: What is the chain length and how will it sit when worn?
A: The necklace measures approximately 42 cm in length, which typically sits around the collarbone on most wearers. It’s great alone or layered with longer chains for contrast.

Q: Is the metal sterling silver?
A: No. This is Chanel costume jewellery in a silver-tone finish. Silver-tone refers to the colour/plating over a base metal alloy rather than solid sterling silver. Unless a Chanel piece is specifically hallmarked as 925/sterling, it should be considered plated costume jewellery.

Q: How should I care for the rhinestones and plating?
A: Keep the necklace dry and avoid contact with water, soaps, perfumes, hairspray and cleaning chemicals. Wipe gently with a soft, lint-free cloth after wear. Store each piece separately in a pouch or box, away from humidity, heat and direct sunlight. Do not soak, and avoid ultrasonic/ionic cleaners; with foil-backed rhinestones, moisture can dull the stones. If needed, use a barely damp cotton bud sparingly and dry immediately, holding the piece face down so liquid doesn’t seep behind the stones.

Q: Can I adjust the length?
A: This model is not supplied with a maker’s extender. Small adjustments may be possible depending on where you clasp along the chain links, but for a longer drop you can add a discreet removable extender (not included). Our team can advise on suitable options.

Q: How do you authenticate this Chanel necklace?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in-house experts using multi-point checks of materials, construction, stamping, and overall craftsmanship. Chanel costume jewellery typically features a discreet signature plaque or stamp (often an oval or round cartouche near the clasp or on the reverse of a charm) with CHANEL, country of manufacture and a season/year code. Stamping alone is not conclusive; we assess the piece as a whole.

Q: What does the four-leaf clover symbolise?
A: The four-leaf clover is widely seen as a good-luck emblem. Many consider the leaves to stand for faith, hope, love and luck, making clover jewellery a thoughtful gift and an uplifting everyday motif.

Q: Will it irritate sensitive skin?
A: As with most plated costume jewellery, the underlying alloy may contain trace metals such as nickel. If you are sensitive, we recommend limiting prolonged skin contact, keeping the piece dry, and removing it overnight. A clear jewellery barrier product can also help minimise irritation.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information section on this page. This listing currently indicates no additional items are included. If you need clarification, please contact us.

Q: Can a missing or loose stone be replaced?
A: In many cases a specialist costume-jewellery repairer can source and set a close-match rhinestone. Colour and cut may vary slightly from the originals. Avoid DIY glues, which can damage plating and stones—contact us for guidance on professional options.

Q: What is the condition?
A: Good vintage condition with minor marks and light tarnishing to the metal; hardware remains shiny with surface scratches, as noted in the product information and shown in the photos.
