Q: Are these Chanel earrings authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts. Chanel costume jewellery typically features a maker’s stamp on the reverse (often an oval cartouche with CHANEL and sometimes a season/year code). We can provide close‑up photos on request for your peace of mind.

Q: What are the materials and finish of this pair?
A: These are gunmetal‑plated, silver‑tone Chanel Coco Mark dangling earrings set with crystal embellishments. They feature CC logo studs with Camellia flower charms and posts for pierced ears. As with most plated costume jewellery, avoid moisture, fragrance, and lotions to preserve the finish.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive ears or nickel allergies?
A: Chanel does not publish detailed metal compositions for costume jewellery, and some plated alloys may contain nickel. If you have a known sensitivity, we recommend a patch test, wearing for short intervals at first, and considering barrier options (e.g., protective sleeves or hypoallergenic clutch backs). Those with severe nickel allergy may prefer stainless steel, titanium, or fine‑jewellery options.

Q: How large and how heavy do they feel on the ear?
A: The drop is approximately 4 cm with a width of about 2.5 cm. Weight is not specified, but this size usually wears as a light‑to‑medium statement earring. If your lobes are sensitive, using supportive backs or earlobe support patches can improve comfort and reduce droop.

Q: Can I wear them every day?
A: You can, but for longevity we recommend occasional wear. Daily use of plated costume jewellery can accelerate wear to the finish and settings. Always remove before showering, swimming, workouts, or sleeping, and put them on after applying perfume or hairspray.

Q: How should I clean and store them?
A: Wipe gently with a soft, dry, lint‑free cloth after each wear. Do not use jewellery dips, ultrasonic cleaners, or abrasive polishes, as these can damage plating and crystals. Store them separately in their box or a soft pouch, away from humidity and direct sunlight.

Q: What if a crystal falls out or the plating shows wear?
A: Chanel’s formal repair services focus on fine jewellery; repair availability for costume pieces can vary by age and parts availability. Many clients use reputable costume‑jewellery specialists for crystal replacement and careful re‑plating. We’re happy to recommend trusted professional services—please contact us.

Q: Can these be converted to clip‑ons or otherwise modified?
A: We do not recommend modifications. Altering posts or fittings can compromise the integrity of the piece, affect plating, and may impact future authentication or resale value.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This pair comes with a box. All included items are listed under the Accessories section; if something isn’t listed there, it is not included.
