Q: How does this choker fit and what is the length?
A: The total length is approximately 42 cm (about 16.5 inches), which typically sits close to the base of the neck on most wearers. As with any choker, fit depends on neck circumference—measure your neck and allow a little comfort room for the best fit. Q: Is the size adjustable or can I use an extender?
A: The lobster clasp allows small adjustments by fastening to different links. If you prefer a looser fit, you can add a short necklace extender in a matching tone (not included). Avoid putting stress on the leather sections when attaching or removing an extender.

Q: What materials and finish does it have?
A: This vintage Chanel choker features a split chain with black leather detail, a central Coco Mark motif embellished with clear and black crystals, and gold‑tone hardware. It closes with a lobster clasp and is made in France.

Q: How should I care for the metal, crystals and leather?
A: Keep it dry and apply fragrance, lotions and hair products before putting it on. Avoid prolonged exposure to humidity and strong light. After wear, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth and store separately in a pouch to prevent scratches. Keep leather away from moisture and heat to preserve its finish. Q: Will the gold‑tone finish tarnish or discolour over time?
A: All plated fashion jewellery can show surface wear with use. To minimise this, avoid water and sweat, limit direct skin contact when storing, and keep the piece in a dry, low‑humidity environment—ideally with anti‑tarnish protection. Q: Are the crystals secure and can they be cleaned?
A: The crystals are set securely, but like all vintage pieces they should be protected from knocks and snagging. Clean only with a soft, dry cloth; avoid liquid cleaners or ultrasonic machines, which can loosen settings or affect finishes. Q: How can I verify authenticity on Chanel costume jewellery like this?
A: Many Chanel pieces carry a hallmark stamp (often an oval or rectangular cartouche) indicating logo and sometimes season codes; stamp styles vary by era, and some designs may be unmarked. Authenticity is assessed holistically by construction, materials and markings. Our team conducts multi‑point checks before listing. Q: Can Chanel boutiques repair fashion jewellery like this choker?
A: Availability of repairs for fashion jewellery can vary by boutique and region. We recommend consulting a Chanel boutique for advice; if brand service isn’t available, a reputable costume‑jewellery specialist may be able to address issues such as crystal replacement or clasp adjustment. Only trained professionals should carry out work to avoid damage. ([chanel.com](https://www.chanel.com/us/fine-jewelry/services/))
