Q: What typically fits inside this Chanel Coco Mark Tassel Bag?
A: This is a compact vintage shoulder bag measuring approximately 18 x 13 x 6 cm. It is best suited to daily essentials such as a phone, cardholder, keys, lipstick and other small items. Bulkier pieces such as a large purse, tablet or sunglasses case may be a tight fit.

Q: Is this bag designed for the shoulder or crossbody wear?
A: This piece features a single chain and leather interwoven strap and is designed as a shoulder bag. The strap drop is not listed in the product information, so if you would like a more precise fit estimate, we recommend checking with customer service before purchase.

Q: Does the bag close securely?
A: Yes. This bag has a zip closure finished with a tassel detail, which helps keep your essentials secure while preserving the classic vintage Chanel look.

Q: What condition is this bag in?
A: The overall condition is rated Very Good. Externally, there are some scuffed corners and marks on the bag. The interior is in Very Good condition with light trace of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: The product information states that this bag includes a serial sticker. If an authenticity card, box, dust bag or any other item is not listed in the product information, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: What does the serial sticker tell me about the bag?
A: The serial number 1145923 is a 7-digit Chanel serial sticker, which is commonly associated with production in the late 1980s to early 1990s, often around 1989 to 1991. As with all vintage Chanel pieces, the serial sticker is an important clue, but it is only one part of the authentication process.

Q: How is a vintage Chanel bag like this authenticated?
A: Authentication should never rely on the serial sticker alone. Experts also assess the leather, stitching, logo details, hardware, lining, construction and overall consistency with the period and style. At A Retro Tale, authenticity is part of the vetting process for every item offered.

Q: How should I care for this vintage red leather bag?
A: To help preserve the leather, avoid overfilling the bag, prolonged exposure to sunlight and moisture, and contact with dark or light fabrics that may cause colour transfer. Wipe gently with a soft cloth and store it upright in a pouch or dust bag, ideally with the chain protected and the bag lightly stuffed to help maintain its shape.

Q: Is this a practical everyday Chanel bag?
A: It can work beautifully for light everyday use if you only carry essentials. Its compact size, zip closure and shoulder strap make it practical for errands, lunches and evening wear, while the vintage leather and hardware mean it is best treated with a little extra care rather than used as a heavy-duty carryall.
