Q: Are these suitable for non-pierced ears?
A: Yes. They feature classic clip-on backs designed to sit securely and comfortably on non-pierced ears. They can also be worn by those with pierced ears who prefer clip-ons.

Q: How secure and comfortable are the clips for all-day wear?
A: Chanel clip-ons are known for a firm hold. For added comfort and grip, many clients use small foam or silicone comfort pads. If you feel too much pressure, a jeweller can fine-tune the clip tension for a personalised fit.

Q: Can the clip tension be adjusted at home?
A: Minor adjustments are sometimes possible, but we recommend having any tension changes done by a professional jeweller to avoid stressing the hardware or plating.

Q: What are they made of—are they solid gold?
A: These are Chanel costume jewellery earrings with gold-plated hardware, not solid gold. The base metal is plated to achieve the rich gold tone associated with vintage Chanel.

Q: Do they contain nickel or other allergens?
A: Vintage costume jewellery may contain trace alloys, and we cannot guarantee they are nickel-free. If you have metal sensitivities, consider using protective pads or consult a jeweller about barrier solutions before extended wear.

Q: How large are the hoops and how do they feel on the ear?
A: They measure approximately 4.5 × 3.5 × 0.2 cm. The size has a statement look without being oversized. Comfort varies by ear shape; pads can help distribute pressure for longer wear.

Q: How should I care for gold-plated vintage Chanel earrings?
A: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after each wear. Avoid water, perfumes, lotions, hairspray, and abrasive cleaners. Store separately in a soft pouch to prevent rubbing that can thin the plating over time. Do not use ultrasonic cleaners.

Q: Can clip-on earrings be converted to posts?
A: Some jewellers offer conversions, but it may alter the design, affect resale value, or compromise hallmarks. A Retro Tale does not modify items; any conversion would be at the buyer’s discretion and cost.

Q: What is included with this pair?
A: As listed under Accessories, this item comes with no accessories. Everything included is always stated on the product page photos and in the Accessories section.

Q: How do you authenticate these Chanel earrings?
A: Every piece at A Retro Tale is carefully authenticated by our in-house experts using multi-point checks of materials, construction, hardware, hallmarks, and overall workmanship. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.
