Q: What typically fits in this Diorissimo shoulder bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 26 × 21 × 3 cm, it suits daily essentials such as a smartphone, compact wallet, keys, sunglasses, lipstick, and a small notebook. It can accommodate an 8-inch tablet or e-reader in a slim case, but a full-size tablet or laptop will not fit. Please compare the measurements with your items to be sure.

Q: Is the strap adjustable and can it be worn crossbody?
A: The bag has a single adjustable shoulder strap with an approximate drop of 18–33 cm. This is designed for shoulder carry and is generally too short to wear as a true crossbody on most frames.

Q: Does the closure work properly on this piece?
A: This vintage example has a flap with a magnetic snap, but the clasp is noted as broken. It may not secure fully; please handle accordingly or consider professional repair if you prefer a fully locking closure.

Q: What accessories are included?
A: No accessories are included with this item. Everything in the listing is shown and stated; if an item like a dust bag or authenticity card is not listed, it is not included.

Q: Is “Diorissimo” the same as the Dior Trotter/Oblique monogram?
A: The repeating Dior monogram was designed in 1967 and is widely known as the Oblique (often called Trotter). In the resale market, many sellers also describe monogram canvas pieces as “Diorissimo”. Separately, “Diorissimo” is also the name of a later leather tote line—so the term can refer either to the monogram motif or to that specific tote, depending on context. This bag features the classic monogram canvas with leather trim.

Q: Where would the serial/date code be on a vintage Dior bag like this?
A: Many Dior bags have a leather tag inside with “Christian Dior PARIS” and “Made in …”. The date code is often on the reverse of this tag or on a small leather tab in a pocket. Formats vary by era; some earlier vintage pieces may have different codes or none visible. This item does not list a visible serial number; our team has authenticated it via materials, stamps and construction details.

Q: How durable is Dior’s canvas and what is the hardware finish here?
A: Dior’s monogram canvas is typically a coated canvas that is light yet hard-wearing and more resistant to surface moisture than untreated fabric. However, the leather trim should be kept away from water and prolonged sun. The hardware on this piece is brass tone and shows scratches and discolouration consistent with age and use.

Q: How should I care for this vintage canvas and leather bag?
A: Wipe the canvas gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. For the leather trim, use a quality, pH-neutral leather cleaner/conditioner sparingly and avoid harsh chemicals or alcohol. Store the bag loosely stuffed in a breathable dust bag, away from direct heat and sunlight, to maintain shape and colour.

Q: The interior has a vintage smell—can it be reduced?
A: Yes. Air the bag in a cool, dry place out of direct sun. Place odour-absorbing sachets (bicarbonate of soda, activated charcoal, or fragrance-free silica) inside for several days, replacing as needed. Avoid spraying perfumes or using aggressive cleaners inside the lining; for persistent odours, a specialist leather-care service is recommended.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes a multi-point inspection by our in-house experts, assessing materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, date codes (when present), and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all pieces we sell and can provide additional photos or details on request.
