Q: What is the Georg Jensen Heritage Necklace made from?
A: This necklace is made from sterling silver and features a Heritage collection pendant on a Figaro chain with a spring ring clasp. Sterling silver is a genuine silver alloy rather than silver-plated base metal.

Q: What is Georg Jensen’s Heritage collection?
A: The Heritage collection is known for designs inspired by Georg Jensen’s archival jewellery, with a distinctive vintage look and strong Art Nouveau influence. It is a popular line for buyers who appreciate classic Danish design.

Q: Is this necklace vintage?
A: Yes. This piece is listed as vintage, which means light signs of age and wear are to be expected and form part of its character.

Q: Where was this necklace made?
A: The country of origin label for this piece is Denmark, which aligns with Georg Jensen’s Danish design heritage.

Q: How long is the necklace, and where will it sit when worn?
A: The listed necklace perimeter is 45 cm, which is approximately 18 inches. On many people, that length sits just below the collarbone, although the exact fit will vary depending on neck size and styling preference.

Q: Is the chain adjustable?
A: No extender is mentioned in the product information, so it is best to treat this as a fixed 45 cm necklace unless otherwise confirmed.

Q: Will sterling silver tarnish over time?
A: Yes. Tarnish is normal for sterling silver, especially on vintage and pre-owned pieces. This necklace is already noted as having tarnish and scratches to the hardware, which is consistent with age and previous wear.

Q: How should I clean and care for this necklace?
A: Use a soft silver polishing cloth and clean it gently rather than aggressively rubbing the surface. To help preserve the finish, remove it before showering, swimming, sleeping, exercising, gardening, or applying perfume and hairspray, and store it separately in a soft pouch or lined box.

Q: Can I wear this necklace every day?
A: Yes, sterling silver is suitable for regular wear, but a vintage piece should be handled with a little extra care. It is best to avoid moisture, chemicals, and hard knocks, and to check the clasp before wearing.

Q: How is Georg Jensen jewellery usually authenticated?
A: Georg Jensen jewellery is typically assessed through a combination of hallmarks, silver marks such as 925, design references, craftsmanship, and period-correct details. At A Retro Tale, every item is professionally authenticated before sale.

Q: What is included with the necklace?
A: This item is listed with no additional product information included. If a box, pouch, certificate, or other extras are not stated on the product page, they are not included.
