Q: What is this Gucci GG Key Necklace made of and where was it crafted?
A: It is crafted in 925 sterling silver and made in Italy. The design features a key-shaped pendant with the GG motif on a rolo-link chain and a secure lobster clasp.

Q: What are the measurements of this piece?
A: The pendant is approximately 3 × 1.6 × 0.3 cm, and the chain measures about 49 cm in perimeter (around 19.3 in). These proportions give a classic pendant length that sits near the collarbone for most wearers.

Q: Is the key functional?
A: No. The key is a decorative pendant and not designed to open locks. It is a jewellery motif only.

Q: Is this necklace unisex and how does the 49 cm length wear?
A: Yes, the GG key design is unisex. At about 49 cm, the chain typically sits around the collarbone on most necks—slightly higher on smaller frames and a touch lower on broader necks.

Q: Is the chain length adjustable?
A: This model is generally worn at a fixed length around 49–50 cm with a lobster clasp. If you prefer a different drop, you can use a small chain extender or ask a trusted jeweller to adjust the length.

Q: Will sterling silver tarnish and how should I care for it?
A: Sterling silver can naturally oxidise over time. To maintain the shine, wipe after wear with a soft polishing cloth, wash occasionally in lukewarm water with a little mild soap, rinse and dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh chemical dips or abrasive cleaners—especially on engraved or intentionally antiqued details—as these can strip the finish. Store it dry, separately from other pieces, ideally in a pouch or box with anti-tarnish lining.

Q: Can I shower, swim or work out while wearing it?
A: It’s best to remove sterling silver jewellery before showering, swimming or exercising. Water, chlorine, perspiration and products like perfume or sunscreen can hasten tarnish and dull the finish.

Q: What hallmarks should I expect to see?
A: Genuine sterling silver pieces typically bear a 925 purity stamp, and Gucci silver necklaces often include brand and country marks such as Gucci and Made in Italy on the pendant or clasp. Placement can vary by production run.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This piece comes with a box. Any included accessories are listed on this page under Accessories.
