Q: Is the Saint Louis PM reversible?
A: Yes. The Saint Louis PM is unlined, extremely light, and completely reversible. You can wear it with the Goyardine canvas outward or turn it inside out to show the linen–cotton interior.

Q: What typically fits inside the PM size?
A: It comfortably holds daily essentials such as a long wallet, phone, keys, small cosmetics case, sunglasses, and a compact water bottle. A slim 13-inch laptop can physically fit, but because the bag is very lightweight and unstructured, we recommend avoiding heavy loads to preserve the handles and corners. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact dimensions and the handle drop.

Q: Does it have a closure or interior pockets?
A: The Saint Louis has an open top without a zip or built-in pockets. It comes with a detachable pouch attached to the handle, useful for small valuables and quick access items.

Q: What is included with this specific item?
A: According to the product information, this piece includes a dust bag and a detachable pouch. Everything included with this item is always listed in the product information on this page.

Q: Is the Goyardine canvas water-resistant?
A: The coated Goyardine canvas is water-resistant, but not fully waterproof. Avoid prolonged contact with rain or liquids; if the bag gets wet, gently dab it dry with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth. Keep it away from extreme heat, humidity, and direct sunlight.

Q: Is the Saint Louis PM suitable for carrying a laptop every day?
A: While a small laptop can fit, the Saint Louis was designed to be feather-light and flexible. Regularly carrying heavy items can stress the slim leather straps and accelerate corner wear. If you do carry tech occasionally, consider using a lightweight organiser and limit weight.

Q: How should I care for the canvas and leather trim?
A: Wipe the exterior with a soft, lint-free cloth using light, broad motions. Avoid solvents, alcohol-based cleaners, oils, and inks. Store the bag loosely stuffed in a breathable dust bag, away from heat and humidity, and allow rest periods between heavy use.

Q: Are the handles comfortable on the shoulder?
A: The dual flat straps are designed for shoulder carry and the approximate 19 cm handle drop on this piece provides an easy over-the-shoulder fit for most people. If you plan to wear it over thicker outerwear, we suggest checking the Measurements and trying with a similar layer at home.

Q: Can I reverse the bag and still use the detachable pouch?
A: Yes. The pouch is attached to the handle and can be used whichever side is outward. When reversed, take care to avoid rubbing the leather and hardware against abrasive surfaces.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this item?
A: Every piece is meticulously vetted by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, stamps, hardware, and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and are happy to provide further details on request.
