Q: What size is a Hermès Carré 140 scarf?
A: A Carré 140 is the oversized Hermès square format, measuring approximately 140 x 140 cm. This generous size makes it easy to wear as a wrap, shawl, oversized neck scarf or travel layer.

Q: What is this scarf made from?
A: This Hermès Carré 140 is a cashmere and silk scarf. In this format, Hermès shawls are widely known for combining the softness and warmth of cashmere with the light drape and sheen of silk.

Q: Is a Carré 140 suitable for year-round wear?
A: Yes. The cashmere-silk blend is light enough to drape comfortably indoors, yet substantial enough to work as an elegant extra layer in cooler weather. Many collectors choose the 140 format because it offers both style and practical warmth.

Q: How can I wear a Hermès Carré 140?
A: This size is especially versatile. You can wear it loosely over the shoulders, folded into a triangle and tied at the neck, wrapped around the neck for volume, or draped over a coat or knitwear. It also works well for travel thanks to its large coverage.

Q: What is special about the Jeu des Omnibus et Dames Blanches design?
A: Jeu des Omnibus et Dames Blanches is one of the most iconic Hermès motifs. It is closely associated with the House’s first silk carré from 1937, making it a design with strong historical appeal for both collectors and admirers of Hermès scarf heritage.

Q: Does Hermès use hand-rolled edges on scarves like this?
A: Yes. Hand-rolled edges are a hallmark of Hermès scarves and shawls, and they are one of the details collectors often look for. Slight variation is normal because this finish is done by hand rather than by machine.

Q: What condition is this pre-owned scarf in?
A: According to the product data, this item is in Very Good Condition with light trace of use. As with most pre-owned cashmere-silk scarves, gentle signs of wear can be expected, but this piece remains highly wearable and collectible.

Q: How should I care for a cashmere-silk Hermès scarf?
A: Handle it gently and avoid contact with rain, perfume, oils, rough jewellery and harsh chemicals. When not in use, store it flat or carefully folded in a dry place away from direct sunlight. If cleaning is needed, specialist professional care for delicate luxury textiles is generally the safest option.

Q: Is this scarf warm enough to use as a shawl?
A: Yes. The Carré 140 format is specifically loved for shawl-style wear because it offers much more coverage than smaller scarf sizes. It can sit comfortably across the shoulders and adds noticeable warmth without feeling too heavy.

Q: Does this item come with any extras?
A: No. The product data states that this item comes with no accessories. Please refer to the product information for what is included with this specific listing.
