Louis VuittonDamier Ebene Ravello GM Bag

Q: What size is the Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene Ravello GM Bag?
A: This bag measures approximately 26 cm wide, 16 cm high and 8 cm deep. The handle drop is approximately 20 cm and adjustable, and the strap drop is approximately 60 cm. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for the exact dimensions of this item.

Q: What typically fits inside the Ravello GM?
A: The Ravello GM is a compact-to-medium shoulder bag that is best suited to daily essentials such as a phone, small wallet, keys, sunglasses, lipstick and other slim necessities. Its structured shape helps keep contents organised, but it is not designed for larger items such as a tablet or laptop.

Q: Can this bag be worn on the shoulder or crossbody?
A: This item includes a shoulder strap listed in the product information. With its approximate 60 cm strap drop, many customers use this style as a longer shoulder bag, and some may find it wearable crossbody depending on height and preferred fit. We recommend comparing the strap measurement with a bag you already wear comfortably.

Q: Does the Ravello GM have exterior and interior pockets?
A: Yes. This style is known for its practical layout, with a front exterior pocket for quick-access essentials and an interior pocket for smaller items. It also has a zip-top main compartment for added security.

Q: What is Damier Ebene canvas, and is it durable?
A: Damier Ebene is Louis Vuitton’s signature coated canvas in a brown checked pattern. It is generally appreciated for being lightweight, structured and more resistant to everyday moisture and surface wear than untreated leather trim, which makes it a popular choice for regular use.

Q: How should I care for this vintage Louis Vuitton bag?
A: Gently wipe the coated canvas with a soft, slightly damp cloth and avoid harsh cleaners, excessive rubbing and overfilling. Store the bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity, ideally lightly stuffed to help maintain its shape. As this is a pre-owned item, extra care around the leather trim, corners and strap is recommended.

Q: What does the code VI4097 mean?
A: The code VI4097 is a Louis Vuitton date code rather than a unique serial number. It indicates production in France, and this format corresponds to the 49th week of 2007. Date codes are useful reference details, but they are only one part of the authentication process.

Q: What condition is this bag in?
A: This item is listed in Very Good condition. The exterior shows minor rubbing on the corners and creasing on the leather strap, the interior has light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. Please review the product images and condition notes for the best understanding of this specific bag.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: According to the product information, this bag comes with a shoulder strap. If any additional items such as a dust bag, box or receipt are not listed in the product information, they should not be assumed to be included.

Q: How do you authenticate pre-owned Louis Vuitton bags?
A: At A Retro Tale, pre-owned luxury items are carefully reviewed for authenticity using details such as materials, construction, stitching, hardware, stamps and date code format. For vintage and second-hand pieces, overall craftsmanship and consistency of details are always considered alongside the code.
