Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Bond Street BB?
A: Despite the “BB” model name, this specific piece measures approximately 27 cm in width, offering practical capacity for daily essentials. It comfortably holds a large smartphone (including Pro/Max models), a full-size (continental) wallet, keys, a cosmetics pouch and sunglasses in a soft case. Please refer to the Measurements on this page or contact us for a tailored fit check for this exact bag.

Q: Is the strap adjustable and can I wear it crossbody?
A: The shoulder strap is widely detachable but typically not adjustable. With a strap drop of approximately 56 cm (as listed in our Measurements), it is designed to sit comfortably as a crossbody or long shoulder bag. You can also carry it by the single top handle for a classic handheld look.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: The Bond Street BB features a front flap secured by a magnetic closure system. This provides convenient access for daily use; for valuables, we recommend using the internal slip pocket or a separate zipped pouch inside.

Q: What materials is this bag made from?
A: This model combines Louis Vuitton’s durable Damier Ébène coated canvas with contrasting Taurillon leather (in Bordeaux/Brown) on the central stripe and trim. It features brass hardware and a textile interior lining.

Q: How do I care for the Damier Ébène canvas and leather trim?
A: Coated canvas is highly durable and water-resistant—simply wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth to clean. The leather trim goes through a treatment process but should still be kept away from excessive moisture, oils and prolonged direct sunlight. Store the bag upright in a breathable dust bag to preserve its structure.

Q: Will it fit a tablet?
A: A small tablet (such as an iPad Mini or standard iPad) may fit snugly given the 27 cm width, but bulky cases might be a squeeze. It is not sized for laptops. Compare your device’s dimensions with the Measurements provided or ask us to test the fit for you.

Q: Is the Bond Street BB still produced?
A: The Bond Street line is generally discontinued, making the pre-loved market the primary place to find this specific combination of Damier canvas and coloured leather.

Q: Where are the brand markings and codes located?
A: Authentic pieces feature a “Louis Vuitton Paris” heat stamp inside. Older models include a date code hidden within a pocket or along a seam, while newer productions (approx. post-2021) contain an embedded microchip. Placement varies—contact us if you would like close-up photos of the markings on this specific item.

Q: What accessories are included with this bag?
A: This item is listed with a detachable shoulder strap. Only items listed under “Accessories” are included with the purchase; if something is not mentioned there (e.g., dust bag or box), it is not included.

Q: How do you authenticate this item?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in-house experts using multi-point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, date codes/microchips and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.
