Q: Does this Alma PM come with a shoulder strap? A: The classic Alma PM is designed for hand or crook-of-arm carry via its Toron handles and this item does not include a strap. Some Alma PM versions feature handle mounts that can accept a separately purchased strap, and the “Bandoulière” variant is made with a strap. Q: Does the Alma PM have protective feet on the base? A: Many later Alma PM models include four protective metal studs; some earlier vintage Epi versions were produced without base feet. Please review our photos to confirm the base style of this specific bag.
Q: Is Epi leather durable and rain-resistant? A: Epi is deep-dyed, textured cowhide known for excellent durability and resistance to light rain and scratches. Wipe away moisture promptly and avoid prolonged exposure to water. Keep away from oils, hand sanitiser, perfume, and direct heat/sunlight to preserve the colour and finish.
Q: How should I care for Epi leather? A: Wipe with a soft, light-coloured cloth for surface dirt. Do not use soaps or solvents. When storing, keep the bag loosely stuffed and in a breathable dust bag to maintain its shape. Avoid abrasive surfaces and colour transfer from dark textiles.
Q: Where is the date code on an Alma PM and what if it’s unreadable? A: On Epi Almas it is typically stamped on a small leather tab or directly into the Alcantara lining near a seam or pocket. With age, stamps can fade. Also note that from March 2021 Louis Vuitton introduced embedded microchips instead of visible date codes, so the absence of a clear code does not, on its own, affect authenticity. This item’s code is noted as illegible in the product information; our experts authenticate each piece using a multi-point process.
Q: Can the zips be locked? A: Yes. The Alma’s double zip can be secured with a padlock. For this listing, a padlock is included as stated in the product information. Keys, dust bag or other items are included only if specifically listed there.
