Q: Is the Cabas Mezzo still in production? A: The original Cabas line (Piano, Mezzo, Alto) is discontinued. Louis Vuitton has since introduced a modern Mezzo inspired by the 2000s design, but it is a different, contemporary model from this vintage Cabas Mezzo.
Q: What does the date code SD0035 mean? A: On Louis Vuitton bags from this era, two letters indicate the factory/country and four digits indicate month and year. SD0035 decodes to March 2005, and SD for this period denotes production in the USA. Note that date codes are not unique serial numbers and are only one element of authentication; from 2021 onward, Louis Vuitton began phasing in microchips instead of date codes.
