Q: What does size 80 mean on this Louis Vuitton belt?
A: Louis Vuitton belt sizing is given in centimetres. According to Louis Vuitton’s size guide, a size 80 generally corresponds to a 28-inch UK/US trouser size. Fit can still vary depending on where you wear the belt, such as on the waist or lower on the hips, so we recommend comparing with a belt you already wear comfortably.

Q: Is this belt reversible?
A: Yes. This is a Louis Vuitton Monogram reversible belt, designed to be worn on either side for two different looks. The Monogram side offers the signature Louis Vuitton look, while the reverse gives a more understated black finish.

Q: How do you reverse a Louis Vuitton reversible belt?
A: On reversible Louis Vuitton belts, the buckle is designed to detach so the strap can be turned and worn on the other side. It should be handled gently and not forced, as repeated rough handling can loosen the fitting over time.

Q: Will a size 80 fit me?
A: Size 80 is typically best for someone around a 28-inch waist, but the right fit depends on where you plan to wear it and your preferred styling. If you like to wear belts over dresses, high on the waist, or lower on the hips, fit may differ. It is always best to compare with your current belt measurements before purchasing.

Q: What condition is this belt in?
A: This belt is in very good pre-owned condition with light traces of use. The hardware remains shiny with light scratches, which is normal for a gently worn vintage or second-hand accessory. Please review the product information and images carefully for the best overall impression.

Q: What is included with this belt?
A: This item comes with product information including a box and dustbag. If you would like confirmation of anything included, please refer to the product information on this page.

Q: Can extra holes be added if the fit is slightly off?
A: Some owners choose to have extra holes added by a reputable cobbler, but this is a modification and may affect originality or future resale appeal. If you are between sizes, it is usually best to choose carefully before purchase rather than alter the belt afterwards.

Q: How should I care for a Louis Vuitton reversible belt?
A: Store it in a dustbag when not in use and keep it away from water, oils, perfumes, heat, and rough surfaces. Avoid fastening it too tightly, as this can stretch the strap over time. Wipe the belt gently with a soft cloth and take care not to rub the hardware against abrasive items.

Q: Is light scratching on the buckle normal?
A: Yes. Light surface scratches on Louis Vuitton belt hardware are very common, especially on pre-owned pieces. This belt is described as having shiny hardware with light scratches, which is consistent with normal gentle wear.

Q: How do you authenticate pre-owned Louis Vuitton belts?
A: At A Retro Tale, pre-owned luxury items are checked by in-house experts using details such as materials, construction, stamps, hardware, and serial or production markings. This belt has the serial number M8232 noted in the product information.
