Q: What materials and finish does this belt have?
A: This vintage Louis Vuitton belt features white Monogram Multicolore coated canvas designed in collaboration with Takashi Murakami, reverses to red leather, and secures with a gold-tone LV cut-out buckle. The strap width is approximately 3 cm, making it a versatile everyday width.

Q: What does size 80 mean and what waist will it fit?
A: LV belt sizes are measured from the buckle to the middle hole. A size 80 is about 80 cm (approximately 31.5 inches) to the middle hole and typically suits around a 28–30 inch waist, depending on where you wear it (high, mid or low rise). If you are between sizes, many buyers prefer the size that fits on the middle hole for adjustment room.

Q: Is this belt reversible and how do I wear the red leather side?
A: Yes. The strap is finished on both sides so you can wear either the Multicolore canvas or the red leather outward. Simply thread and fasten the belt as usual with the LV buckle; no special mechanism is required beyond orienting the strap so your preferred side faces out.

Q: Is this style unisex?
A: Yes. Louis Vuitton belts are sized by length and width rather than gendered fit. If the measurements suit your waist and styling preference, this piece can be worn by anyone.

Q: How should I care for the Multicolore canvas and leather?
A: Wipe coated canvas with a soft, slightly damp microfibre cloth and mild soap if needed; avoid alcohol, oils and harsh cleaners. For the leather side, keep it dry, condition sparingly with a suitable leather product when needed, and store the belt flat or loosely coiled away from heat and direct sunlight.

Q: Does the white Multicolore canvas stain easily from denim or dark fabrics?
A: Light-coloured coated canvas can be prone to colour transfer from non-colourfast clothing (for example dark denim). Minimise prolonged rubbing against such fabrics and avoid contact with damp dyes. Promptly wipe the surface if transfer occurs.

Q: What should I know about authenticity for Murakami Multicolore pieces?
A: The Multicolore line debuted in spring/summer 2003 and was discontinued in 2015, making original pieces collectible. Vintage LV items from this era usually have a heat-stamped date code; note that date codes alone do not guarantee authenticity. Newer LV items made from March 2021 use embedded microchips rather than printed date codes. A Retro Tale inspects materials, stamps, stitching and hardware to guarantee authenticity.

Q: Can I add extra holes or adjust the length?
A: Extra holes and professional shortening can typically be done by a reputable cobbler who can match the hole size and spacing. DIY punching is not recommended as it can look uneven and may affect resale value. Some boutiques may not add holes to belts post-purchase; local expert services are usually the best route.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This listing includes the belt only. No accessories are included unless expressly stated under Accessories on this page.

Q: What is the belt’s approximate width and will it fit standard belt loops?
A: The strap is about 3 cm wide (approximately 30 mm), a common width that fits most standard trouser belt loops.
