Q: What typically fits inside the Alma BB?
A: With approximate measurements of 24 × 18 × 11 cm, it’s ideal for a large smartphone (including most Pro/Max models), a compact or continental wallet, keys, slim sunglasses in a soft case, a small cosmetics pouch and a passport/cardholder. Capacity varies with organisers and cases—compare your items with the Measurements shown or ask us for a tailored fit check for this exact piece.

Q: Will it fit an iPad mini or a 500 ml water bottle?
A: A compact tablet such as an iPad mini usually fits without a bulky case. A 500 ml bottle can often fit laid horizontally but is rarely comfortable standing upright due to the curved zip opening. Share your device’s dimensions and we’ll test the fit for this specific bag.

Q: Is the shoulder strap adjustable? Can I wear it crossbody?
A: The Alma BB typically comes with a detachable, single‑length strap (often non‑adjustable). On most wearers it can be worn on the shoulder or as a high crossbody. Our listing notes an approximate strap drop of 80 cm for this piece; the dual rolled handles have an approximate 25 cm drop for hand or crook‑of‑arm carry. If you’d like exact on‑body guidance, we’re happy to advise.

Q: How secure is the closure and what is the interior layout?
A: It features a wrap‑around zip closure for secure access. Inside, this piece has a brown fabric lining with one slip pocket. A clochette with padlock and keys is included for added peace of mind when you wish to secure the zips together.

Q: What is “Vernis Rayures” and is it still produced?
A: Vernis Rayures is a striped interpretation of Louis Vuitton’s glossy Monogram Vernis leather, inspired by heritage trunk stripes. It was a seasonal release around the early 2010s and is discontinued, making it a sought‑after limited edition on the pre‑loved market. The Alma BB remains part of the current LV line in other materials and colours.

Q: Is Monogram Vernis leather durable? Will it show colour transfer?
A: Vernis is coated calf leather with a high‑gloss finish. It’s beautiful but can be more prone to colour transfer, imprints and surface scuffs than coated canvas—especially with light leathers. To reduce risk, avoid prolonged contact with dark denim and printed materials, keep away from heat/humidity, and do not overfill the bag which can mark the glossy surface.

Q: How should I clean and care for Vernis leather and the hardware?
A: Dust with a soft, dry cloth; for light marks, use a barely damp lint‑free cloth and blot—don’t rub. Avoid alcohol, acetone, household cleaners and “baby wipes,” which can dull the finish. Let any moisture air‑dry away from heat. Store lightly stuffed, upright, in a breathable dust bag, and keep the strap/hardware from pressing into the leather to minimise imprints and hairline scratches. For colour transfer or stubborn stains, we recommend professional care.

Q: Where is the date code and how does dating work for this era?
A: For Alma BB pieces from this period, a date code is typically stamped on a small leather tab inside the bag (often along or behind the interior pocket). The letters indicate country of manufacture and the numbers indicate production timing. Note that codes are not unique serial numbers and, from 2021 onwards, many new LV bags use an internal microchip instead of a visible code. We’re happy to help locate and interpret the markings on this exact item.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: For this specific piece we include: brand booklet, detachable shoulder strap, clochette, padlock and keys. If you need confirmation about any accessory not listed here, please ask and we’ll verify for you.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, reviewing materials, stitching, stamps/date codes (or microchip where applicable), hardware and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of every item we sell.
