Louis Vuittonx Takashi Murakami Monogram Alma PM Bag

Q: What makes this Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami Alma PM special?
A: This bag combines the classic Alma silhouette with Takashi Murakami’s iconic Multicolore Monogram, making it one of Louis Vuitton’s most recognisable early-2000s collaboration pieces. The white canvas version is especially eye-catching and highly collectible among vintage Louis Vuitton fans.

Q: What typically fits inside the Alma PM?
A: With approximate measurements of 35 x 24 x 17 cm, this size is well suited to daily essentials. It will typically hold a phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses, a cosmetics pouch, and a few extra small items. Its structured shape also helps keep belongings organised, but for exact fit we recommend checking the measurements on this page against the items you plan to carry.

Q: Can this bag be worn on the shoulder or crossbody?
A: No. This Alma PM is designed to be carried by hand or on the crook of the arm using its dual rolled leather handles. The handle drop is approximately 11 cm, and no shoulder strap is listed in the product information.

Q: Does this bag have interior pockets?
A: Yes. According to the product details, it has a red lining with two internal pockets, which are useful for keeping smaller essentials easy to reach.

Q: Does the white Multicolore canvas need special care?
A: Yes. The coated canvas is durable, but the tan Vachetta leather trim is untreated and naturally develops patina over time. This means it can darken, show watermarks, and pick up scuffs with use. It is best to avoid rain, oils, dark denim, and harsh cleaning products, and to store the bag in a breathable dust bag when not in use.

Q: What does the code FL0064 indicate?
A: The code FL0064 is consistent with Louis Vuitton’s older date-code format rather than a unique serial number. It indicates production in France in June 2004, which fits the era of the Murakami Multicolore line.

Q: What is the condition of this bag?
A: The overall condition is listed as good. The Vachetta leather shows visible patina, with watermarks and scuffing on the base and trim. The interior is in good condition with light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: This bag includes a dust bag. Everything included with the item is shown in the product information, so if another item is not listed there, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: How do you authenticate a vintage Louis Vuitton piece like this?
A: At A Retro Tale, items are checked by experts using a combination of details such as materials, construction, hardware, stamps, codes, and overall consistency with the model. For Louis Vuitton, a date code can support the assessment, but it is only one part of the authentication process.
