Q: What is the Rolex Lady-Datejust 26mm ref. 69173 (1987)?
A: It’s a vintage two‑tone Rolex “Rolesor” Lady‑Datejust with a 26mm stainless‑steel case, 18ct yellow‑gold fluted bezel, black dial with date and Cyclops, and a two‑tone Jubilee bracelet. This example is from 1987 and is delivered as a full set with box and certificate.

Q: Which movement does it use and what is the power reserve?
A: Period‑correct 69173 models typically house the automatic Rolex Calibre 2135 with quickset date and hacking seconds, often COSC‑certified. Power reserve is around 42 hours. We can confirm the exact calibre in this specific watch on request.

Q: How do I wind and set the time and date?
A: Unscrew the crown anti‑clockwise. Position 1: manual wind (about 20–30 turns if stopped). Position 2: quickset the date. Position 3: set the time. Avoid changing the date between roughly 8pm and 2am. When finished, push the crown in and screw it down firmly to help maintain moisture resistance.

Q: Is it water‑resistant and suitable for swimming?
A: The Oyster case was originally rated to 100m, but with vintage pieces water resistance cannot be guaranteed without recent gasket replacement and pressure testing. Treat it as splash‑resistant at best; avoid swimming or showering unless it has been freshly resealed and tested, and always ensure the crown is fully screwed down.

Q: Does it have a sapphire crystal and Cyclops magnifier?
A: Yes—late‑1980s Lady‑Datejust models like this are typically fitted with a scratch‑resistant sapphire crystal and Rolex’s signature Cyclops lens over the date for enhanced legibility. Contact us if you’d like us to confirm the crystal on this exact watch.

Q: Will it fit my wrist, and can the Jubilee bracelet be resized?
A: As listed, it fits wrists up to approximately 16cm or smaller. The Jubilee bracelet can usually be resized by adding or removing links; we can size it prior to dispatch. Extra links may be sourced subject to availability—share your wrist measurement and we’ll advise.

Q: Is the gold solid and how should I care for the two‑tone finish?
A: Rolesor models combine stainless steel with solid 18ct yellow gold components (bezel and centre links), not plating. To preserve the finish, avoid abrasive polishes and chemicals; wipe with a soft microfibre cloth after wear. Periodic professional servicing/polishing by an authorised or reputable watchmaker is recommended.

Q: Can I swap the bracelet for a leather strap?
A: Yes, many 26mm Lady‑Datejust references accept straps sized for the model’s lug width (approx. 13mm) with suitable end‑links. A strap will change the look and feel; we’re happy to advise on compatible options while keeping the original bracelet and parts safe.

Q: What condition should I expect for this 1987 example?
A: Very good vintage condition with light traces of use. The hardware is shiny with light scratches, and the movement and interior present very well. Please review the photos and ask for any additional imagery if needed.
