Q: What waist size does a Saint Laurent belt in size 100 fit?
A: Saint Laurent belt sizes are measured from the end of the buckle to the centre hole. A size 100 measures 100 cm to the centre hole and typically fits around 95–105 cm waists because most belts have five holes spaced about 2.5 cm apart. If in doubt, measure a belt you wear on the hole you use most and match that length to 100 cm (about 39.5 inches).

Q: How should I check if size 100 is right for me if I wear the belt on the hips or over layers?
A: Measure at the exact place you’ll wear it (natural waist, mid‑rise, or over a coat), threading a tape through the belt loops. Read the length to the hole you’d use; the closest even size up is your belt size. For this item, you’ll want that measurement to be about 100 cm for a centre‑hole fit.

Q: What is the belt’s width and will it fit my belt loops?
A: This style is approximately 2 cm wide, a slim profile that works with most tailoring and standard denim loops. If your trouser loops are unusually narrow or very wide, compare against 2 cm to be sure.

Q: Is this belt reversible or is the buckle removable?
A: This design features a pin‑buckle with the YSL monogram and a single‑sided leather strap. It is not reversible and the buckle is not intended to be swapped. Saint Laurent does make separate reversible plaque‑buckle styles, but this piece is the classic single‑sided pin‑buckle type.

Q: How many holes does it have and can I add extra holes?
A: Saint Laurent pin‑buckle belts typically have five holes spaced about 2.5 cm apart, giving roughly 5–10 cm of adjustment around the labelled size. Additional holes can be added by a professional cobbler for the cleanest result; DIY punching carries a risk of misalignment and may affect resale value.

Q: How should I care for the leather and black‑toned hardware?
A: Wipe the leather with a soft, dry or slightly damp lint‑free cloth, allow it to air dry, and condition sparingly a few times a year with a neutral leather conditioner. Keep away from oils, perfumes, and prolonged heat or sunlight. For the black‑toned buckle, avoid abrasive contact and metal‑on‑metal friction, which can mark coated finishes over time; simply buff with a soft cloth after wear and store unbuckled to reduce pressure on the prong and holes.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: This piece comes with the box. Everything included is listed under the product information on this page; if an item such as a dust bag isn’t listed there, it is not included.

Q: Where is this belt made and what is it made of?
A: It is made in Italy from black leather with black‑toned metal hardware and a YSL monogram pin‑buckle fastening.

Q: What is the condition of this specific item?
A: Very Good overall. There are light traces of use on the leather, and the hardware is shiny with light scratches. Please review the photos for close‑ups of condition details.

Q: How do you authenticate this belt?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is thoroughly vetted by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, stamps, logo detailing, hardware, and serial markings where present. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can provide additional details on request.
