Q: How does this necklace fit and what are the measurements?
A: The chain measures approximately 40 cm (about 16 inches), so it typically sits at the collarbone on most wearers. The double puff heart pendant is about 4 cm tall, 2.1 cm wide and 0.3 cm deep. It secures with a spring ring clasp and has a lariat-inspired drop for an elegant, elongated look.

Q: Is the length adjustable?
A: It is not designed with an extender and fastens at a fixed length via a spring ring clasp. If you prefer a little extra length, a jeweller can add a small extender chain without altering the pendant.

Q: What is the overall condition of this vintage piece?
A: Very good vintage condition with normal signs of gentle wear. The hardware is shiny with light scratches on the heart pendant. Please review the photos for the most accurate representation.

Q: What is it made from and will it tarnish?
A: It is crafted in sterling silver (92.5% silver). Sterling silver can naturally tarnish over time, especially with exposure to air, sulphur, chlorine and some cosmetics or lotions. Regular wear and occasional care help maintain its shine.

Q: How should I clean and store sterling silver jewellery?
A: Gently polish with a soft silver cloth. For a deeper clean, use a mild jewellery cleaner or a little mild soap in warm water, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaners, bleach and chlorine. Store it dry, ideally in a soft pouch, to minimise scratches and tarnish.

Q: Can I wear it every day, including in the shower or pool?
A: Sterling silver is suitable for daily wear. However, remove it before swimming, bathing or exercising, as chlorinated water, saltwater and harsh chemicals can accelerate tarnish and dull the finish.

Q: What hallmarks should I expect to see?
A: Tiffany & Co. sterling pieces typically carry the brand signature and a metal purity mark such as 925; hallmark style and placement can vary by country and era of manufacture. Subtle differences are normal across production periods.

Q: Is this item authentic?
A: Yes. Every piece at A Retro Tale is carefully authenticated by our in‑house experts using multi‑point inspections of materials, construction and stamping. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and are happy to share additional photos or details on request.
