Q: Is this Christian Dior Logo Necklace authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What materials is it made from? Is it solid gold?
A: Dior costume jewellery is typically crafted from gold‑tone plated base metal (often brass), sometimes with enamel, resin or glass crystal accents. It is not solid gold unless explicitly stated. Please review the photos and contact us if you’d like us to confirm the specific composition of this piece.

Q: What is the length and is it adjustable?
A: Please refer to the “Perimeter Necklace” on this page—listed as 40 cm. Some Dior necklaces include an extender chain for adjustability; check the close‑up images to see if this piece has one. If you need the precise wearable range or pendant drop, message us and we’ll measure it for you.

Q: How does it fasten?
A: Dior logo necklaces commonly use a lobster clasp or spring‑ring closure, sometimes attached to an extender chain. Please see the product photos for the exact fastening on this piece, or contact us for confirmation.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect on a Dior necklace?
A: Authentic vintage Dior jewellery often features signatures such as “Chr. Dior”, “Christian Dior” or “CD”, and may include country stamps like “Made in France/Italy” (some vintage pieces are stamped “Germany”). Mark placement varies—commonly near the clasp or on the pendant reverse. Our listing photos show any available hallmarks.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin? Is it nickel‑free?
A: Vintage and fashion jewellery may contain nickel. If you have sensitivities, consider applying a clear barrier product to contact points or wearing the necklace over clothing. Discontinue use if irritation occurs and contact us for guidance.

Q: How should I care for a gold‑tone plated Dior necklace?
A: Keep it dry and away from perfume, lotions, hairspray and sanitiser. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and store separately to avoid scratches. Do not soak, use ultrasonic cleaners or chemical dips. Proper care helps preserve the colour and lustre over time.

Q: Will the finish tarnish or fade with wear?
A: Plated finishes can show light wear with use—especially at high‑friction points like the clasp and pendant edges. Minimising contact with moisture and cosmetics, wiping after wear and storing individually will help prolong the finish. Any notable patina or wear is disclosed in our photos and description.

Q: Can it be resized, extended or replated?
A: A jeweller can often add a short extender chain, replace or adjust the clasp, or replate the metal. Note that modifications can affect originality and potential resale value. We don’t offer in‑house alterations but can recommend reputable specialists on request.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return it?
A: Gentle vintage wear—such as micro‑scratches, minor plating rub or light patina—can be expected unless stated otherwise. Only accessories specifically shown or listed (e.g., box/dust pouch) are included; Dior typically does not issue separate authenticity cards for costume jewellery. Returns are accepted in line with our policy—please see our Returns page for eligibility and timeframes.
