Q: Is this Van Cleef & Arpels Sweet Alhambra Carnelian Bracelet authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What materials is the Sweet Alhambra Carnelian bracelet made from?
A: Sweet Alhambra bracelets are fine jewellery crafted in 18‑carat gold (most commonly yellow gold) with a carnelian stone motif and a delicate chain. They are solid precious metal, not plated. Exact specifications can vary by release—please review the photos and contact us if you’d like us to confirm details for this piece.

Q: What size is it and will it fit my wrist?
A: Please refer to the “Perimeter Bracelets” and “Width Bracelet” measurements on this product page. Sweet Alhambra bracelets typically feature an adjustable chain with one or more jump rings for flexible sizing. To check fit, measure your wrist snugly with a soft tape and compare to the listed perimeter; we can provide the exact wearable range on request.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect on a genuine VCA bracelet?
A: Authentic Van Cleef & Arpels pieces usually carry “VCA” and “Au750/750” gold marks, a unique serial number, and country hallmarks (e.g., the French eagle‑head for 18k gold or regional 750 marks). Stamps are often found on the clasp tag or near the motif and can vary by era and country of manufacture. Our photos will show any visible hallmarks on this bracelet.

Q: Is the carnelian natural and will the colour vary?
A: Van Cleef & Arpels selects natural carnelian; slight variations in hue and internal striations are normal and part of its character. Colour ranges typically from warm orange to deep red—please review the close‑up images for this exact piece.

Q: How should I care for 18‑carat gold and carnelian?
A: Keep the bracelet dry and away from perfume, lotions, sanitiser and hairspray. Remove before bathing, swimming or exercising. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and store separately to avoid scratches. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, steam and chemical dips; use only non‑abrasive jewellery cloths on the metal, taking care around the stone.

Q: Is it nickel‑free and suitable for sensitive skin?
A: VCA fine jewellery is made from 18‑carat gold. Yellow gold alloys are typically nickel‑free, while some white gold alloys may contain nickel. If you have sensitivities, we recommend confirming the gold colour, using a clear barrier product at contact points, and discontinuing wear if irritation occurs.

Q: Can the length be adjusted or can Van Cleef & Arpels service it?
A: Minor adjustments may be possible via existing jump rings. Adding an extension should be done by a skilled jeweller. Van Cleef & Arpels boutiques may offer services such as polishing, repairs or stone checks subject to assessment; alterations can affect originality and resale value. We don’t offer in‑house modifications but can advise on reputable specialists.

Q: What accessories are included (box, certificate)?
A: Only accessories specifically listed or shown on the product page are included. VCA pieces may come with a certificate and box when available; if pictured or mentioned, they will be provided. Otherwise, we pack securely for safe delivery.

Q: What condition should I expect and can I return it?
A: Light pre‑owned wear—such as micro‑scratches to gold or gentle patina—is normal unless stated otherwise. Please review the condition notes and high‑resolution photos. Returns are accepted; please see our Returns page for eligibility and timeframes.
