ChanelQuilted Cambon Tote Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Chanel Quilted Cambon Tote Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 40 x 25 x 15 cm, this is a roomy everyday tote that can usually hold a long wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses case, cosmetics pouch, water bottle and A4 documents, along with other daily essentials. If you plan to carry bulkier items, we recommend checking the listed measurements first.

Q: Can this bag be carried on the shoulder?
A: Yes. The listed drop is approximately 22 cm, so it is generally suited to shoulder carry as well as hand carry. Fit can vary depending on your frame and whether you are wearing heavier outerwear.

Q: When was this bag produced?
A: The serial number begins with 9 and the listing dates it to 2004 - 2005, which is consistent with Chanel bags from that period using serial stickers rather than the newer metal plate system.

Q: How do you authenticate a vintage Chanel Cambon tote?
A: Authentication should never rely on the serial sticker alone. Experts also assess the leather quality, quilting, stitching, hardware, logo placement, lining and overall construction. This item has been vetted by A Retro Tale and the serial number is noted in the product information.

Q: What condition is this bag in?
A: The overall condition is listed as Very Good. There is minor scuffing on the corners, light traces of use inside and light surface scratches to the shiny silver-tone hardware.

Q: What product information are included with this bag?
A: The product information listed for this item is the serial number. If an authenticity card, box or dust bag is not mentioned in the product information section, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: How is the interior organised?
A: The bag has a black fabric lining with an internal zipped pocket, giving you a simple layout for daily essentials while helping keep smaller items easier to separate.

Q: How should I care for this vintage Chanel leather bag?
A: Use a soft cloth for gentle cleaning and avoid harsh care products, prolonged sunlight, heat and moisture. To help preserve the shape, avoid overfilling it and store it upright in a pouch or dust bag when not in use. Take extra care with light leather to minimise colour transfer from darker clothing.

Q: Is the Chanel Cambon tote a practical everyday option?
A: Yes. The Cambon tote is often chosen as an everyday style because of its roomy shape and shoulder-friendly design. This beige and black version offers a versatile neutral palette while still feeling distinctive.
