Q: What is the BVLGARI Bulgari Bulgari 26mm Ref BB 26 SS Mother-of-Pearl Dial Watch?
A: It’s a vintage, Swiss-made quartz wristwatch with a 26mm stainless steel case and matching bracelet, featuring a white mother-of-pearl dial. The Bulgari Bulgari line is known for its refined, minimalist design and Roman-influenced aesthetics, making it a versatile dress-and-everyday piece.

Q: What does “Bulgari Bulgari” refer to?
A: “Bulgari Bulgari” is BVLGARI’s signature collection, originally inspired by classical Roman inscriptions. Many models feature the brand name engraved around the bezel, symbolising the house’s heritage and design philosophy. Details can vary slightly by reference and era.

Q: What movement and battery does it use, and how long will the battery last?
A: The watch uses a Swiss quartz movement. Most similar Bulgari quartz models take a standard 1.55V silver-oxide button cell (commonly a 377/SR626SW or comparable), but the exact cell should be confirmed and fitted by a professional. Typical battery life is around 2–3 years depending on use and storage.

Q: Is it water-resistant and can I wear it while swimming?
A: As with most vintage watches, water resistance cannot be guaranteed without recent servicing and testing. Treat it as splash-resistant at best and avoid showering, swimming, or submersion. If light moisture resistance is desired, have the gaskets checked and replaced by an authorised watchmaker and always ensure the crown is fully pushed in.

Q: Will it fit my wrist, and can the bracelet be resized?
A: The bracelet currently fits up to approximately 16.25 cm. Resizing is typically done by adding or removing links. Extra links may be sourced subject to availability and may incur a fee—contact us with your wrist measurement for guidance.

Q: Does this model have a sapphire crystal?
A: Many Bulgari Bulgari references feature a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, though specifications can vary by era and exact reference. We’re happy to confirm the crystal type on this specific watch upon request.

Q: How do I set the time on this quartz watch?
A: Gently pull the crown out to its setting position, turn it to set the time, then push the crown back in firmly. Avoid setting the time in damp environments and ensure the crown is fully secured to help maintain any residual moisture resistance.

Q: How should I care for the mother-of-pearl dial and stainless steel bracelet?
A: Wipe the watch with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Keep mother-of-pearl away from strong UV, perfumes, solvents, and abrasive cleaners as these can dull the natural lustre. For the bracelet, use a slightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Avoid ultrasonic cleaning unless carried out by a professional familiar with vintage pieces.

Q: Is the watch authentic, and what is included?
A: A Retro Tale specialises in authentic luxury vintage items and professionally authenticates every piece. This watch is Swiss-made and carries the serial number PO 6782. Unless stated otherwise in the listing’s Accessories section, it is delivered as shown without additional accessories. All our watches come with a 12-month guarantee on the movement.

Q: What servicing is recommended for a quartz Bulgari watch?
A: Replace the battery every 1–2 years and have seals checked if moisture resistance is important. A full service is typically only needed if there are issues (e.g., timekeeping problems, condensation, or damage). Keep the watch away from strong magnets and store it in a dry environment.
