Q: What is the Cartier Santos Ronde 33mm Ref 1920 (1995)?
A: It’s a vintage, Swiss‑made Cartier Santos Ronde in stainless steel with a 33mm round case, white Roman‑numeral dial, blued steel hands and a date display. The crown is set with a blue spinel cabochon. This example is from 1995, serial 011047, and is delivered as a Full Set with its original box and certificate.

Q: Which movement does it use, and what’s the power reserve?
A: Many 1990s Santos Ronde models use a Cartier automatic movement based on a Swiss ETA calibre with date. Typical power reserve is around 38–42 hours. We can confirm the exact movement in this specific watch on request.

Q: Is it water‑resistant, and can I swim with it?
A: Original water‑resistance ratings vary by reference, but on any vintage watch water resistance is not guaranteed. Avoid swimming or showering unless the watch has been freshly serviced, re‑sealed and pressure‑tested by an authorised watchmaker. Always ensure the crown is fully secured before any contact with moisture and avoid hot water/saunas.

Q: How do I wind and set the time/date safely?
A: If the crown is screw‑down, first unscrew it anti‑clockwise. Position 1: manual wind (about 20–30 turns if stopped). Position 2: quickset the date. Position 3: set the time. Avoid changing the date between roughly 8pm and 2am to protect the mechanism. When finished, press the crown in and secure it (screw down if applicable).

Q: Does it have a sapphire crystal?
A: Many Cartier Santos Ronde watches from the 1990s feature a scratch‑resistant sapphire crystal. We’re happy to confirm the crystal type on this exact piece for you.

Q: How does the 33mm size wear, and is it unisex?
A: 33mm offers an elegant, medium‑small presence that suits many wrists and wears well unisex. This bracelet fits wrists up to approximately 20cm as listed; we can size it for you before shipping and advise on sourcing additional links subject to availability.

Q: Can the bracelet be resized or replaced with a strap?
A: Yes—links can be added/removed to adjust fit. Strap options may be possible depending on end‑link compatibility for the Santos Ronde case; we can advise on suitable alternatives. To avoid scratches or damage, have a professional watchmaker handle any bracelet or strap changes.

Q: What is included in the “Full Set,” and what is the condition?
A: This listing includes the original Cartier box and certificate. The watch is in very good condition with light scratches on the case and bracelet; hardware is shiny with minor wear. We can share close‑up photos and details on request.

Q: How can I verify the reference, serial and production year, and is it authentic?
A: The reference for this model is 1920 and the serial is 011047; these details are typically found on the caseback/papers. A Retro Tale thoroughly authenticates every item and guarantees originality. We provide a 12‑month mechanical guarantee, insured DHL delivery and a 14‑day return policy.

Q: What accuracy and service interval should I expect, and any care tips?
A: A well‑maintained Swiss automatic should keep good time for its era, though performance varies with age and service history. Routine servicing every 4–6 years is commonly recommended. Keep the watch away from strong magnets, have seals checked if moisture resistance matters, and clean with a soft microfibre cloth to preserve the polished/brushed finish.
