Q: What typically fits inside this Chanel CC Tassel Barrel Chain Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 17 × 13 × 8 cm, it comfortably holds a smartphone, small wallet or cardholder, keys, compact, and lipstick. A long continental wallet is unlikely to fit; please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact sizing.

Q: Can it be worn crossbody?
A: The single chain-and-leather strap has an approximate drop of 42 cm. On most people this wears best as a shoulder bag; crossbody placement will sit fairly high and depends on your height and preference.

Q: Is the hardware real gold?
A: Many vintage Chanel bags produced before the late 2000s featured 24k gold-plated hardware. This specific piece is described as gold-tone with expected scratches and discolouration from normal vintage use. We cannot confirm plating content beyond what is stated in the product description.

Q: What does the serial number 0606060 indicate?
A: Chanel used 7‑digit serial stickers from the late 1980s into the early 2000s. Early “0‑series” numbers generally correspond to the late 1980s. Serial numbers help indicate an era, but on their own do not authenticate an item; our team assesses materials, construction, stamps, stitching, and hardware holistically.

Q: When was the CC tassel barrel/camera style popular?
A: Zip‑top, tassel‑charm camera and barrel silhouettes became signatures of late‑1980s to 1990s Chanel under Karl Lagerfeld and remain highly collectible today.

Q: How should I care for the lambskin leather and tassel?
A: Wipe with a soft, non‑pilling cloth and avoid moisture, oils, and prolonged sunlight. Store the bag lightly stuffed to maintain shape, and keep the chain tucked inside to prevent impressions on the leather. For minor surface marks on lambskin, gently buff in small circular motions; deeper cleaning and colour touch‑ups should be left to professional specialists.

Q: Can the tassel or hardware be repaired or replated?
A: Chanel boutiques may offer repairs subject to an in‑person assessment and parts availability. Many reputable leather clinics can recondition tassels and, where appropriate, replate hardware. Contact us if you would like recommendations.

Q: What is included in the product information?
A: This item includes a serial number tag. Unless specifically listed under product information, items such as an authenticity card, dust bag, or box are not included.

Q: Is the strap adjustable or removable?
A: No. The interwoven chain strap is fixed and non‑adjustable, and it is not designed to be removed.

Q: Is this piece made in Italy or France?
A: This example is stamped Made in Italy. Chanel produces handbags in both Italy and France, so origin can vary by piece and production year.
