Q: Are these earrings suitable for non‑pierced ears?
A: Yes. They feature a classic clip‑on closure designed for non‑pierced lobes. They can also be worn by those with pierced ears as they sit comfortably on the lobe without a post.

Q: How big are they and how do they sit on the ear?
A: Each earring measures approximately 2.1 × 2.1 × 1 cm. The faceted, diamond‑shaped centre sits flush on the lobe, offering a bold look without excessive drop. The resin construction helps keep the weight moderate for their size.

Q: What are they made of and are they hypoallergenic?
A: These are crafted from iridescent turquoise resin with silver‑tone metal hardware. Like most Chanel fashion jewellery, the metal is a base‑metal alloy rather than solid precious metal, so it may not be suitable for highly sensitive skin. If you have sensitivities, consider using clear barrier pads or silicone cushions to minimise skin contact.

Q: Are clip‑on earrings comfortable for longer wear?
A: Comfort varies by ear shape and clip tension. Tips for comfort include adding soft silicone or foam cushions to the backings, ensuring an even placement on the lobe, and taking short breaks during very long wear. If the clips feel too tight or too loose, a professional jeweller can fine‑tune the tension for you; avoid forceful DIY bending to prevent damage.

Q: How should I care for resin and silver‑tone costume jewellery?
A: Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear. Avoid contact with water, perfumes, cosmetics, sunscreen, hand sanitiser, and household cleaners, as these can dull finishes or affect resin. Do not use metal polishes, ultrasonic cleaners, or abrasive cloths. Store individually in a soft pouch, away from humidity, heat, and prolonged sunlight to help prevent discolouration or surface marks.

Q: Do these earrings come with any accessories or comfort pads?
A: No. As listed, this item is sold without accessories, and comfort pads are not included. If you prefer extra cushioning, universal clip‑on pads are widely available and easy to add.

Q: What signs of wear should I expect on this vintage pair?
A: The external condition is graded Good with marks on the hardware. Minor surface scratches or signs consistent with careful vintage use are normal and reflected in the condition notes and photos.

Q: How can I tell if vintage Chanel earrings are authentic?
A: Chanel earrings are often stamped on the reverse, but markings vary by era and some genuine vintage pieces may be unsigned. Because stamps can be imitated, authenticity is assessed by the overall construction, materials, finish, and era‑correct details. Every item at A Retro Tale is authenticated by our specialists before listing, and we stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.

Q: Where were these made?
A: The country‑of‑origin label is France. On Chanel fashion jewellery, the exact placement and style of the origin stamp can vary by collection and production period.
