Q: What is the chain length and how will it sit on the neck?
A: The necklace is approximately 40 cm long, which typically sits as a short, collarbone-grazing style on most wearers and can feel choker-like on smaller necks. If you prefer a longer drop, a small extender chain can be added by a jeweller (not included).

Q: Is this solid sterling silver or silver-tone plated metal?
A: This is Dior costume jewellery in silver-tone metal with rhinestones, not solid sterling silver. Dior fashion necklaces from this era are generally plated over a base metal unless specifically hallmarked for precious metal.

Q: What does the “For Peace” motif mean?
A: “For Peace” is a slogan-style Dior logo plate seen on Y2K-era designs, often paired with star charms and rhinestones. It’s a playful, optimistic theme characteristic of early‑2000s Dior fashion jewellery.

Q: Is the length adjustable?
A: This piece closes with a lobster clasp. An extender is not included in our listing; if you need extra length, a jeweller can add a slim extender chain without altering the look of the necklace.

Q: How should I care for the rhinestones and plating?
A: Keep the necklace dry and away from perfume, lotions and hairspray. After wear, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth and store it separately to avoid scratches. Do not soak or ultrasonically clean rhinestone pieces—most are foil-backed, and moisture can cloud or darken the stones.

Q: Can I wear it every day or in water?
A: You can enjoy it regularly, but remove it before showering, swimming, exercising or sleeping. Water, sweat and friction will accelerate wear to plated finishes and rhinestone settings.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
A: As vintage costume jewellery, it may contain base metals (potentially including nickel). If you have metal sensitivities, consider using a clear jewellery barrier on contact points or opt for fine jewellery metals that suit your skin.

Q: Are the stones secure and what is the condition?
A: The piece is graded Very Good with a light trace of use; the hardware is shiny with light surface scratches. Our team inspects settings and stones as part of intake, but please handle with care and avoid impacts to maintain stone security.

Q: What is included with the purchase?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information section for this item. If a Dior box, dust bag or other extras are not listed there, they are not included.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate Dior jewellery?
A: Every item undergoes multi‑point checks by our in‑house experts, including inspection of materials and plating, construction and weight, stamping and hallmark plaques, clasp and tag details, and overall workmanship. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can provide additional photos or details on request.
