Q: What is the length and can it be adjusted or doubled?
A: The chain measures approximately 100 cm and is adjustable. At this length it can be worn long or doubled to create a layered look, depending on your neckline and preferred fit.

Q: Is this necklace solid silver?
A: No. It is a silver‑tone Dior fashion jewellery piece. Dior’s fashion jewellery is typically crafted in metal with a silver or palladium‑tone finish (often over brass), rather than solid sterling silver. Solid precious metals are used in Dior’s fine jewellery lines and are usually hallmarked accordingly.

Q: Will the finish tarnish and how should I care for it?
A: Any plated or silver‑finish piece can dull over time if exposed to moisture, sweat, perfume, lotions or household chemicals. Wipe after wear with a soft, dry, lint‑free cloth; store separately in a pouch; avoid water, steam, and direct sunlight; and put jewellery on last, after fragrance and skincare. These habits help preserve the shine and plating for longer.

Q: Can I wear it in the shower, swimming, or during exercise?
A: We do not recommend it. Water, chlorine, salt, heat and perspiration can accelerate wear to plated finishes and shorten the life of the piece. Remove it before bathing, swimming, workouts or sauna use.

Q: Is it nickel‑free and suitable for sensitive skin?
A: Dior pieces produced for EU markets are designed to meet strict nickel‑release limits. However, vintage items may predate current standards and individual sensitivities vary. If you are nickel‑sensitive, consider wearing it over fabric and remove it if any irritation occurs.

Q: How can I tell if a vintage Dior necklace is authentic?
A: Look for crisp signatures and quality construction: CD or Chr. Dior plaques, clean engraving, secure soldering and even plating. Some older pieces may be stamped with country or maker marks (for example, Germany/Grossé). Not all pieces carry dates or serial numbers. Every item at A Retro Tale is thoroughly authenticated before listing.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This necklace is sold without accessories unless specifically listed. For this piece, there are no accessories included.

Q: Can Dior repair or re‑plate vintage costume jewellery?
A: Availability is limited and varies by boutique and the age of the piece. Some Dior locations may assess, but many do not service older costume jewellery. For re‑plating or stone replacement, a trusted specialist jeweller is usually recommended—contact us for guidance.

Q: Any styling tips for this design?
A: The long, multi‑strand silhouette with CD medallion and star charm works beautifully over knitwear or a simple tee. Double the chain for a two‑row effect, or wear it long to elongate the torso and highlight the pendant details.
