Q: What are these earrings made of?
A: Crafted in solid 18kt gold with Gucci’s Double G motif embellished with multicolour crystals and finished with a push‑back (butterfly) closure. They are vintage, pre‑owned and made in Italy. Please refer to the Measurements and photos on this page for precise sizing and hallmarks.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive ears?
A: 18kt gold is generally well tolerated and recommended for many with sensitive ears; however, metal sensitivities vary by individual. If you are highly nickel‑sensitive, consider a short trial wear and discontinue if irritation occurs, or consult a dermatologist for patch testing.

Q: How secure are push‑back closures, and can I upgrade them?
A: Push‑backs are the most common and are secure for everyday wear when fitted snugly. For extra security you can ask a jeweller about locking backs (Guardian/La Pousette) or larger disc friction backs; these can improve stability without altering the earrings.

Q: Can I wear them in the shower, pool or hot tub?
A: It’s best to remove them before showering, swimming or using hot tubs. Chlorine and heat can weaken gold alloys over time, and water, steam and cosmetics may dull crystal settings.

Q: How should I clean them safely?
A: For routine care, wipe after each wear with a soft, dry cloth. For deeper cleaning of the gold, use lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap and a very soft brush, then dry thoroughly. Avoid soaking the crystal areas, harsh chemicals, alcohol on stones, or ultrasonic cleaners, as vibration and moisture can loosen glued crystal settings.

Q: What hallmarks should I expect to see?
A: Fine 18kt gold is typically stamped 750 (which denotes 75% pure gold). Gucci fine jewellery usually also bears a brand signature and country mark; stamps can vary by year. Inspect our close‑up photos for the exact markings on this piece.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: As listed under Accessories, no accessories are included. If an item such as a Gucci box, dust pouch or certificate is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: Are these earrings authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is thoroughly authenticated by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, construction, stamps and overall craftsmanship. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.

Q: Can a jeweller replace a lost back or a crystal if needed?
A: Yes. A reputable jeweller can supply compatible 18kt replacement backs and assess, tighten or replace a crystal if ever required. For any work on luxury pieces, we recommend using an experienced jeweller and keeping the original parts safely stored.
