Q: What is the Hermès Charnière bracelet?
A: Charnière is French for hinge. This vintage Hermès bangle is a narrow, hinged enamel bracelet with gold‑plated hardware. This piece features the blue and white Éperon d’Or Bandana print and was made in France.

Q: What are this bracelet’s measurements and fit?
A: It is approximately 12 mm wide with an inner circumference of about 16.5 cm. Hermès enamel bracelets are generally offered in sizes based on diameter (commonly 62, 65 or 70 mm), and some hinged styles like Clic H are labelled PM/GM. For comfort, choose a bracelet with an inner circumference slightly larger than your wrist and compare with any Hermès enamel you already wear.

Q: How does the hinged closure work?
A: The bangle opens on a side hinge; gently separate at the seam of the clasp to put it on or remove it. Do not twist or force the mechanism. If the hinge feels stiff or misaligned, we recommend a professional assessment through Hermès after‑sales service.

Q: Is the enamel durable and how should I care for it?
A: Enamel is a glass‑based material and can chip if dropped or knocked. Store the bracelet in its box, avoid impacts, and wipe with a soft, lint‑free cloth after wear. Keep it away from extreme heat.

Q: Can it get wet?
A: It’s best to avoid contact with water, especially chlorinated or salt water, as well as perfumes and cosmetics. If contact occurs, gently rinse with clean, room‑temperature water and dry with a soft cloth.

Q: Will the gold‑plated finish tarnish or scratch?
A: With normal use, fine surface marks may appear. To maintain the shine, keep the bracelet dry, avoid abrasive cleaners, and store it separately from other jewellery to minimise friction. A soft cloth buff after wear helps preserve the finish.

Q: What is the Éperon d’Or Bandana motif?
A: Éperon d’Or (Golden Spurs) is a classic Hermès equestrian design by Henri d’Origny, first issued in 1974. The Bandana variation reinterprets this motif in a bandana‑style layout and colourway.
