Q: What exactly is this model?
A: It is the Omega De Ville Prestige Co‑Axial Chronometer, reference 424.10.40.20.02.005. It features a 39.5 mm stainless‑steel case, white silvery opaline dial with Roman numerals, domed scratch‑resistant sapphire crystal with anti‑reflective treatment inside, a date at 3 o’clock, and an automatic Co‑Axial chronometer movement.

Q: Which movement does it use and how accurate is it?
A: It is powered by Omega’s Co‑Axial calibre 2500, an automatic, chronometer‑certified movement. As a COSC chronometer, a well‑maintained example is typically regulated to an average of −4 to +6 seconds per day. Real‑world rate can vary with wear. Power reserve is approximately 48 hours.

Q: Is it water‑resistant and can I swim with it?
A: The De Ville Prestige 39.5 mm is rated to 30 metres (3 bar). That is suitable for everyday splashes and rain, but not recommended for swimming, bathing, saunas or diving. We suggest annual water‑resistance checks to ensure the seals remain effective.

Q: Does this dial have luminescent hands or markers?
A: No. This dial variant uses blackened hands and Roman numerals/cabochons without luminous material, giving it a classic dress‑watch look that does not glow in the dark.

Q: What wrist size will the bracelet fit out of the box?
A: This piece currently fits wrists up to approximately 17 cm and comes with three extra links. The bracelet can be adjusted by adding or removing links; we recommend sizing by a professional to avoid scratches. Further links can usually be sourced if required.

Q: Can I put this on other straps?
A: Yes. The 39.5 mm De Ville Prestige uses a 20 mm lug width, so most 20 mm leather or textile straps will fit. For the cleanest result and to preserve condition, have strap changes done by a watchmaker and keep the original bracelet with the watch.

Q: What is included with this watch?
A: As listed in the product information, this item includes the box, outer box and booklet. If an item such as an authenticity/warranty card or additional accessories is not listed in the product information, it is not included.

Q: What is the condition?
A: Very Good overall. There are light traces of use consistent with careful wear; the hardware is shiny with light surface scratches. Please review the photos for a close look at the case, bracelet and dial.

Q: The serial number is noted as illegible—does that affect authenticity or use?
A: The serial is unreadable on this example, which can occur with wear or finishing over time. It does not affect function, and the watch has been fully authenticated by our experts. Documentation or manufacturer services linked to the original serial may not be obtainable without a readable number.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this piece?
A: Every watch is examined by our in‑house specialists using multi‑point checks of case and movement engravings, materials and finishing, dial and hands, crystal, crown, bracelet, and period‑correct reference details. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and are happy to provide additional photos or information on request.
