A: This 1996 model epitomises the timeless design of the Datejust. It features a versatile 36mm stainless steel Oyster case paired with a signature fluted bezel—traditionally crafted in 18ct white gold on this reference. The watch showcases a striking blue dial with Roman numeral hour markers and is fitted on a classic Jubilee bracelet.

Q: Which movement powers this timepiece?
A: The watch is powered by the robust Rolex Calibre 3135, a self-winding automatic movement. It includes a Quickset function, allowing you to adjust the date rapidly via the crown without rotating the hands through a full 24-hour cycle.

Q: Does this watch feature a sapphire crystal?
A: Yes. By 1996, the Datejust 16234 was equipped with a scratch-resistant synthetic sapphire crystal. It also features the iconic Cyclops lens over the date window at 3 o'clock for magnification and improved legibility.

Q: Is the watch water-resistant?
A: The Oyster case was originally designed to be water-resistant to 100 metres. However, given its vintage nature, we cannot guarantee the original rating without a fresh pressure test. We advise treating the watch as splash-resistant only and avoiding swimming or showering with it.

A: This specific watch fits a wrist circumference of up to 18.5 cm. The Jubilee bracelet is known for its comfort and can be adjusted by removing links for a tighter fit if necessary.
