Q: What is the Rolex Datejust 36mm Ref. 16013 from 1984?
A: It’s a classic two‑tone Rolex Datejust (steel and 18ct yellow gold) with a 36mm Oyster case, an 18ct yellow‑gold fluted bezel, a black dial with date under the Cyclops lens, and a brown leather strap. Elegant and versatile, it’s a vintage piece from 1984 authenticated by A Retro Tale.

Q: Which movement does the 16013 typically use, and is the date quickset?
A: Most 16013 models are powered by the automatic Rolex Calibre 3035, featuring a quickset date and a high‑beat 28,800 vph. The power reserve is around 42 hours. As with all vintage watches, specifics can vary; contact us if you’d like us to confirm the exact calibre in this piece.

Q: Does this 1984 Datejust have acrylic or sapphire crystal?
A: Ref. 16013 examples from this era typically feature an acrylic crystal with the Cyclops date magnifier. Later Datejust references moved to sapphire. We can verify the crystal type on this particular watch upon request.

Q: Is it water‑resistant and can I swim with it?
A: The Oyster case was originally rated to 100 metres, but water resistance on vintage watches cannot be guaranteed without recent gasket replacement and pressure testing. We recommend avoiding swimming or showering unless it has been professionally re‑sealed and tested. Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down before any exposure to moisture.

Q: How do I set the time and date safely on a quickset Datejust?
A: Unscrew the crown anti‑clockwise. Position 1: wind (about 20–30 turns if the watch has stopped). Position 2: quickset the date. Position 3: set the time. Do not change the date between roughly 8pm and 2am to protect the mechanism. When finished, push the crown in and screw it down firmly.

Q: What wrist sizes suit 36mm, and is it unisex?
A: 36mm offers a balanced, classic presence suitable for many small to medium wrists and also wears well on larger wrists seeking a vintage proportion. It is commonly worn unisex. The fitted strap accommodates wrists up to around 19cm and has multiple adjustment holes.

Q: Can I swap the leather strap for a bracelet, and what fits the 16013?
A: Yes. The 36mm Datejust typically uses a 20mm lug width, so many quality 20mm leather straps will fit. Period‑correct two‑tone Jubilee or Oyster bracelets for the same era can also be compatible when paired with the correct end links; availability varies. We’re happy to advise on sourcing and fitting options.

Q: Is the fluted bezel solid gold or plated?
A: On the Rolesor Datejust 16013, the fluted bezel is crafted from solid 18ct yellow gold. The case is stainless steel, giving the signature two‑tone look.

Q: What accuracy and service interval should I expect?
A: When new, Datejust models were chronometer‑rated, but performance today depends on age and service history. A routine service every 5–10 years is generally recommended, or sooner if you notice running fast/slow, reduced power reserve, moisture, or impact damage. Keep the watch away from strong magnets and have the gaskets checked periodically.

Q: What is included, and what warranty/shipping do you offer?
A: This listing is delivered with no accessories unless stated otherwise. A Retro Tale guarantees authenticity and provides a 12‑month mechanical warranty on all watches. We offer free, insured DHL shipping, a 14‑day return policy, and 0% customs fees for EU buyers. Contact us for any specific delivery or documentation requests.
