Q: What size is this Cartier Tank Française XL watch?
A: This watch measures approximately 30 x 36 mm, which is the XL size for this reference. As with many rectangular watches, it tends to wear differently from a round watch, so it can feel elegant and substantial on the wrist without wearing like a typical 36 mm round case.

Q: Can the strap or fit be adjusted later on?
A: Yes. Cartier generally advises having adjustments or strap changes handled professionally to avoid damage and to ensure compatibility. Since this watch includes its original buckle, many buyers choose to preserve that original hardware if changing the strap in future.

Q: How should I care for a vintage Cartier watch like this?
A: We recommend gentle routine care: wipe it with a soft dry cloth, avoid exposing it to water unless its water resistance has been recently checked, keep the crown properly set, and store it away from magnets, humidity and high heat. Periodic servicing is also advisable for long-term performance.

Q: How do you verify authenticity?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully vetted for authenticity by specialists. For vintage watches, this typically includes checking details such as reference markings, serial number, construction, dial and case characteristics, movement type, and overall consistency with the model.
