ChanelSuede Crossbody Bag

Q: What fits inside this Chanel Suede Crossbody Bag?
A: This is a slim vintage crossbody measuring approximately 22.5 x 17 x 0.6 cm, so it is best suited to essentials such as a phone, cardholder, keys and a lipstick or other small cosmetics. Because the profile is very flat, it is not designed for bulky items. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for the most accurate size guide.

Q: Is this bag suitable for everyday wear?
A: Yes, for light everyday use. Its crossbody format makes it easy to carry, but suede is a more delicate material than grained leather or coated canvas, so it is best treated with a little extra care and kept away from rain, friction and rough surfaces.

Q: How should I care for a vintage Chanel suede bag?
A: Store it upright when possible, avoid overfilling, and keep it away from prolonged sunlight, moisture and colour transfer from darker clothing. Use only gentle suede-appropriate care methods and avoid harsh products. For day-to-day upkeep, a light, careful approach is best for vintage suede.

Q: Should I use a protector spray on the suede?
A: This is a matter of preference, and opinions among Chanel owners vary. If you choose to use a protector, it should be one specifically made for suede and tested very carefully on a discreet area first. Many buyers prefer to avoid unnecessary products on vintage bags, especially if the suede is already in very good condition.

Q: Is this an authentic vintage Chanel bag?
A: This bag includes an authenticity card and a serial number tag, which are important supporting details for vintage Chanel pieces. As with all vintage Chanel bags, authenticity should be assessed as a whole through serial details, materials, construction, hardware and overall craftsmanship rather than any single feature alone.

Q: What does the serial number tell me about the bag?
A: The serial number is listed as 5745314. Chanel serial numbers are commonly used to help estimate the production period of vintage bags, and a 7-digit number is consistent with an older Chanel piece from the sticker-and-card era. Serial numbers are useful for dating and supporting authentication, but they do not identify the exact style on their own.

Q: Does this bag have a secure closure?
A: This particular bag has an open top. That gives easy access to your essentials, but it also means it is best suited to careful daily use rather than carrying very loose or valuable small items without an organiser or pouch inside.

Q: Does it have any interior pockets?
A: Yes, it has a brown textile lining with one internal zipped pocket. This is useful for separating smaller valuables such as cards, cash or keys from the main compartment.

Q: What condition is the bag in?
A: The overall condition is rated Very Good. The exterior and interior both show light traces of use, and the hardware is described as shiny with light scratches. This means the bag presents well while still showing the gentle signs of wear expected from an authentic vintage piece.

Q: What is included with the bag?
A: According to the product information, this item includes an authenticity card and a serial number tag. If any additional extras such as a dust bag or box are not listed in the product information, they should not be assumed to be included.
