ChanelTweed Classic Medium Double Flap Bag

Q: What are the measurements of this Medium Classic Double Flap?
A: Approximately 25.5 × 16 × 7 cm (width × height × depth). The interwoven chain has an approximate drop of 25 cm when doubled for the shoulder and about 40 cm when extended, as noted in the product information.

Q: What typically fits inside the Medium Classic Flap?
A: Daily essentials such as a smartphone, compact wallet, keys, lipstick, and slim sunglasses. The double flap slightly reduces capacity compared with single-flap designs, so larger items like water bottles or bulky pouches are best avoided.

Q: Can this Medium size be worn crossbody?
A: Yes, the chain can be lengthened for a crossbody carry. On many frames it will sit higher on the torso due to the drop length, making it ideal for petite to medium builds; taller frames may find it sits above the hip.

Q: What are the benefits of the double-flap construction?
A: The second flap adds structure, helps the bag keep its shape over time, and provides extra privacy and organisation. It does slightly reduce the usable space compared with single-flap versions.

Q: How should I care for a Chanel tweed bag?
A: Tweed is a woven textile that benefits from gentle upkeep. Avoid moisture, oils and perfume; minimise friction against rough or dark materials to reduce snagging and colour transfer. After use, lightly brush with a soft fabric brush or use a lint roller, and store the bag loosely stuffed in a breathable dust bag, away from direct sunlight and heat.

Q: Is the hardware gold-plated on this piece?
A: Many Chanel bags produced before late 2008 featured 24k gold-plated hardware. The serial number 8668625 indicates an 8-series bag from roughly 2003–2004, which falls within that period; however, plating can vary by collection, so this should be considered a well-supported likelihood rather than a guarantee.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information. For this bag, the product information notes a box, a dust bag, and an interior serial number sticker. If an item such as an authenticity card is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Each piece at A Retro Tale is assessed by specialists using multi-point checks of materials, stitching and quilting, hardware and CC lock, brand stamps, and the serial number sticker. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can share additional product information on request.

Q: Are there any notable signs of wear?
A: The exterior is in good condition with light traces of use. The hardware is shiny with light scratches. The interior is in good condition with a stain noted on the lining, as reflected in the product information.

Q: Is “Medium” the same as “Medium/Large (M/L)” in Chanel sizing?
A: Yes. Chanel naming has varied over time and across markets; “Medium”, “Medium/Large”, and “M/L” are used interchangeably to describe this size of the Classic Double Flap.
