Christian DiorGold-Tone Crystal Logo Brooch

Q: Is this Christian Dior Logo Brooch authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What is it made from? Is it real gold?
A: This is Dior costume jewellery featuring gold‑tone hardware with crystal embellishments. It is not solid gold. Please review the close‑up photos and features and contact us if you’d like us to confirm any aspect of the composition for this piece.

Q: What are the measurements and how noticeable will it be when worn?
A: The brooch measures approximately 1.7 cm (height) x 6 cm (width) x 1 cm (depth). The 6 cm width gives a refined yet statement look on lapels, knitwear or accessories. If you’d like the exact gram weight or a photo on model for scale, message us and we’ll provide it.

Q: How does it fasten and is it secure?
A: It features a traditional pin closure. For extra security, you can add a small brooch stopper/locking clutch or a clear rubber earring back on the pin tip, and use a backing disc or a piece of felt on the inside of the garment to stabilise the pin—especially on knits.

Q: Can I wear it on coats, knitwear, scarves or bags?
A: Yes—brooches work beautifully on structured fabrics like wool coats, blazers, denim and canvas. On delicate fabrics (silk, fine knits), test in an inconspicuous spot and consider a backing disc to prevent pulls. If pinning on a handbag, go through a reinforced area or strap to avoid marking delicate leather.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect on a Dior brooch?
A: Vintage Dior costume jewellery commonly bears the DIOR or CHRISTIAN DIOR signature; placement and format vary by era and maker. Our listing images show any logos or stamps present on this brooch.

Q: Is it nickel‑free and suitable for sensitive skin?
A: Fashion jewellery alloys and platings may contain nickel. If you have sensitivities, wear it over thicker fabric, consider applying a clear barrier product to contact points, and discontinue use if irritation occurs. We’re happy to advise further if needed.

Q: How should I care for the gold‑tone finish and crystals?
A: Keep it dry and away from perfume, lotions, hairspray and hand sanitiser. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Do not soak, use ultrasonic cleaners or chemical dips. Store it individually in its box or a soft pouch to prevent scratches and minimise friction that can dull the finish over time.

Q: Can it be repaired, replated or converted to a pendant?
A: A competent jeweller can often tighten/straighten the pin or replace a catch; gentle replating may be possible. Brooch‑to‑pendant converters are available if you’d like to wear it on a chain. Any modification can affect originality and resale value—contact us for reputable specialists.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return it?
A: This brooch is in Very Good Condition with light signs of careful wear possible unless noted otherwise. This listing includes a box; only accessories specifically shown or listed are included. Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please see our Returns page for eligibility, timeframes and conditions, and ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
