Louis VuittonDamier Ebene Speedy Bandoulière 35 Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandoulière 35?
A: With approximate dimensions of 35 × 23 × 18 cm, it’s a roomy everyday size. It comfortably carries a large smartphone, continental wallet, keys, slim sunglasses in a soft case, cosmetics pouch, a 500 ml water bottle, an A5 diary/notebook and a tablet (e.g., iPad/11-inch iPad Pro). Capacity is helped by the wide zip opening; our photos show the exact interior of this piece.

Q: Will it fit a laptop or A4 documents?
A: A4 papers and slim folders can fit when placed horizontally; a rigid ring binder is less comfortable due to the curved zip opening. A 13-inch laptop may fit diagonally and without a bulky sleeve, but the shape isn’t ideal for frequent laptop carry. Larger 15–16-inch devices generally do not fit comfortably. For certainty, compare your device to our Measurements or ask us for a quick fit check.

Q: Is a strap included with this exact bag?
A: This listing states “no accessories,” so a strap, padlock, clochette/keys and dust bag are not included. The Bandoulière model has side D-rings for a strap, so you can add an authentic LV strap later if desired—contact us for guidance.

Q: What’s the difference between the classic Speedy and the Speedy Bandoulière?
A: Both share the same iconic silhouette and rolled top handles. The Bandoulière adds side leather tabs with D-rings and a detachable, adjustable strap for shoulder or crossbody wear. It typically carries a small premium at retail and offers more versatility.

Q: How secure is the closure and what is the interior layout?
A: The Speedy Bandoulière 35 has a zip-top main compartment for everyday security. This piece features a red textile lining with one internal slip pocket, as shown in our listing photos.

Q: What is Damier Ebene canvas and how durable is it?
A: Damier Ebene is Louis Vuitton’s brown checkerboard coated canvas—lightweight, hard-wearing and water-resistant for everyday use. The dark brown leather trim/handles are treated, making them more resistant to water marks than untreated vachetta seen on Monogram styles. Avoid heavy rain, wipe the canvas with a soft slightly damp cloth, and keep leather away from moisture and potential colour transfer from dark denim.

Q: How can I prevent the Speedy from sagging and keep its shape?
A: Store it lightly stuffed and upright in a breathable dust bag. During use, many owners add a bag organiser or thin base shaper to support the bottom and protect the lining. Choose rounded‑edge inserts and avoid overfilling to minimise pressure lines.

Q: What does the date code DU2152 mean on this bag?
A: For Louis Vuitton bags produced roughly between 2007 and 2020, the four digits indicate week and year: the 1st and 3rd digits show the week, and the 2nd and 4th show the year. DU2152 decodes to week 25 of 2012, and “DU” denotes a French factory code. From around 2021, LV began using embedded microchips instead of visible date codes.

Q: Is the Speedy Bandoulière 35 heavy and how does it carry?
A: The Speedy line is known for being lightweight for its capacity. With a handle drop of about 9 cm, it’s comfortable in hand or on the crook of the arm. Crossbody or shoulder carry is possible when a strap is attached (not included with this piece).

Q: How should I care for the canvas, leather and hardware?
A: Wipe the canvas with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately; keep leather away from moisture and oils, and be mindful of colour transfer. For hardware, use a clean, dry microfibre cloth—avoid abrasive polishes. Store the bag stuffed, upright, away from direct sunlight and humidity to preserve shape and finish.

Q: What is the condition of this specific item and what should I expect?
A: Overall condition is Very Good with light traces of use inside and out. Hardware shows scratches and some discolouration consistent with gentle wear. Please review our detailed photos and description for the most accurate view—what you see is the exact bag you’ll receive.

Q: How do you authenticate this item?
A: Every piece at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, including checks of materials, stitching, hardware, brand stamps, date code/microchip (where applicable) and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.
