Louis VuittonMonogram Packall GM Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Monogram Packall GM Bag?
A: With measurements of 54 x 39 x 15 cm, this is a roomy soft travel bag that can usually hold clothing for a weekend away, a toiletries pouch, chargers, flat shoes and travel documents. It can also fit many laptops and folders, but we recommend comparing your own items to the Measurements listed on this page for the best guide.

Q: Is the Packall GM suitable as carry-on luggage?
A: In many cases, yes. At 54 cm wide, it sits close to common cabin limits for soft travel bags, so it is often suitable for carry-on use. Airline rules vary by carrier, route and ticket type, so it is always best to check your airline’s current cabin baggage allowance before travelling.

Q: Can this bag be carried on the shoulder?
A: Yes. This piece features both a single top handle and an adjustable shoulder strap, so it can be carried by hand or worn on the shoulder depending on how you prefer to use it.

Q: How is the inside organised?
A: The bag has a spacious main compartment with brown textile lining and one internal zip pocket for smaller essentials such as a passport, cables or cards. The two-way zip closure also makes packing and access easier.

Q: What does the date code BA 1020 indicate?
A: Louis Vuitton date codes indicate production details rather than acting as a unique serial number. Based on standard Louis Vuitton date code conventions, BA 1020 points to production in France in the 12th week of 2000.

Q: What condition is this particular bag in?
A: The overall condition is rated Very Good. Externally, the Vachetta leather has a visible patina and watermarks. Internally, there are light traces of use, and the brass hardware remains shiny with light scratches consistent with careful vintage wear.

Q: Are the patina and watermarks on the Vachetta leather normal?
A: Yes. On vintage Louis Vuitton pieces, Vachetta naturally darkens over time and develops a deeper patina through age and use. Water exposure can also leave marks more easily on this untreated leather, so some variation in tone is expected on older pieces. This bag already shows that lived-in vintage character.

Q: How should I care for the Monogram canvas and Vachetta leather?
A: Avoid over-packing, prolonged heat and unnecessary moisture. Store the bag in its dust bag in a ventilated space, and if the leather gets wet, gently blot it straight away with a soft light-coloured cloth. Avoid household cleaners, leather lotions and oils, as these can damage both the canvas finish and the untreated leather trim.

Q: What is included with the bag?
A: This item comes with a dust bag. The most accurate overview of what is included can always be found in the product information on this page.
