Q: Is this Omega Constellation a quartz watch?
A: Yes. The 396.1070 Constellation family is a vintage quartz model, so it is battery-powered rather than automatic. That makes it convenient for everyday wear, though battery changes should be handled promptly by a qualified watchmaker.

Q: What size is the watch, and how does it wear on the wrist?
A: This watch measures approximately 34–35 mm across the case. It has a refined vintage presence, and Constellation models with an integrated bracelet often wear slightly larger than the numbers suggest while still looking elegant and classic.

Q: Will the bracelet fit my wrist?
A: The bracelet is currently sized to fit a wrist of 15 cm or smaller and comes with 5 extra links. A watchmaker or jeweller can normally adjust the bracelet for a more comfortable fit.

Q: What are the main design details of this watch?
A: This piece has a bi-colour steel and gold-tone look, a champagne dial, a date display, and the Roman numeral bezel that is closely associated with the Constellation line. It is a Swiss-made vintage watch dating to 1992.

Q: Is it water resistant?
A: Vintage reference 396.1070 models were originally rated to 3 bar, but seals and gaskets can age over time. Because of that, it is best treated as splash-resistant only unless it has been freshly pressure-tested, and we would not recommend swimming or showering with it.

Q: What condition is this watch in?
A: The overall condition is listed as Very Good. It has light external traces of use, the internal condition is noted as very good, and there are scratches on the case and bracelet consistent with normal vintage wear.

Q: Does it come with box or papers?
A: No original box, papers, or other extras are included with this watch. If something is not listed in the product information on this page, it should be assumed not to be included.

Q: How should I care for a vintage Omega Constellation?
A: Wipe it gently with a soft dry cloth, avoid moisture, perfume, harsh chemicals, and knocks, and have any battery change or servicing carried out by a trusted professional. Regular checks are especially important for vintage watches.

Q: How do you confirm authenticity?
A: At A Retro Tale, each watch is carefully assessed using detailed checks of the case, dial, bracelet, movement, and reference details. This helps ensure the watch is authentic and accurately represented before it is offered for sale.
