Saint LaurentNoir Boston Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Saint Laurent Noir Boston Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 38 × 22 × 20 cm, it comfortably holds day‑to‑day and overnight essentials such as a change of clothes, trainers, a toiletry pouch, a water bottle and tech. It fits most 13‑inch laptops in a slim sleeve and some slim 14‑inch models; a 15‑inch device may be snug depending on the sleeve and how you pack. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact sizing.

Q: Is this size cabin‑friendly for flights?
A: Yes. At around 38 cm in length, this bag is within the cabin or personal‑item limits of most airlines. Policies do vary by carrier and aircraft, so we recommend checking your airline’s current guidelines before travelling.

Q: How can I carry it and does it include a strap?
A: It offers dual rolled top handles for hand carry and comes with a detachable shoulder strap listed in the product information. The handle drop is approximately 15 cm and the strap drop is about 34 cm, making it most comfortable by hand or on the shoulder rather than cross‑body for most heights.

Q: What’s included with this item?
A: According to the product information, this piece includes a dust bag, brand booklets and a detachable shoulder strap. If an item isn’t listed there, it is not included—feel free to contact us for clarification.

Q: What does “Very Good Condition” mean here?
A: This vintage bag shows gentle, honest wear: a small dent, light surface scratches and light scuffing on the corners. The interior shows only light traces of use, and the gold‑tone hardware remains shiny with minor scratches. Overall, it retains an excellent look and structure.

Q: What exactly is a “Boston bag” and how does this one wear?
A: A Boston bag is a classic oblong, zip‑top holdall with two top handles, often used as a compact weekender or daily carry. This Saint Laurent version in black leather with gold‑tone hardware is structured enough for work and refined travel, yet spacious for gym or overnight packing.

Q: How should I care for the leather exterior and suede lining?
A: Wipe the leather with a soft, dry cloth after use and keep it away from prolonged sunlight, moisture and oils. If desired, apply a neutral leather conditioner sparingly and test first in a discreet area. For the suede lining, use a clean suede brush or lint roller and avoid liquids. Store the bag lightly filled to maintain shape and place it in its breathable dust bag when not in use. Avoid overfilling to minimise corner wear.

Q: Where would I find the serial/date code and what does it indicate?
A: Saint Laurent bags typically have a serial number stamped on a small leather tag inside, often in or behind an interior pocket. Codes vary by era; many vintage pieces show a 12‑digit format, while later models may include letters and numbers. The code helps indicate production details but, on its own, isn’t a guarantee of authenticity—our team authenticates every piece using multi‑point checks.

Q: Why might the stamp read “Saint Laurent Paris” on some bags and “Yves Saint Laurent” on others?
A: In 2012 the ready‑to‑wear line’s branding transitioned to “Saint Laurent Paris”. Vintage pieces from different periods can therefore show either stamping, both of which are correct for their era.

Q: Is this style unisex and suitable for daily use?
A: Absolutely. The Boston silhouette is a timeless unisex shape. In black leather with understated gold‑tone hardware, it works seamlessly for work, gym, city commutes and short trips.
