Q: What defines this Cartier Tank Française 25mm Ref. 2301 (circa 2010)?
A: A classic mid-size Tank Française in stainless steel with a 25mm case (approx. 25 x 30mm), cream/opaline dial with black Roman numerals, blued-steel hands, and a crown set with a blue cabochon. This specific piece is Swiss-made, circa 2010, in Very Good condition and presented in silver tone on the integrated steel bracelet.

Q: Is this watch quartz or automatic?
A: Ref. 2301 is powered by Cartier’s Swiss quartz movement (commonly calibre 157). Quartz offers precise timekeeping and minimal upkeep compared with mechanical movements.

Q: How long does the battery last and how is it replaced?
A: Typical battery life is about 2–3 years. We recommend replacing the battery via an authorised Cartier service, where the gaskets are renewed and water resistance is tested at the same time.

Q: What are the dimensions and who does the 25mm size suit?
A: The mid-size Tank Française measures roughly 25 x 30mm and wears elegantly on most wrists. This particular watch fits a wrist circumference of up to 16cm; the bracelet can be shortened or lengthened by adding/removing links (additional links are not included).

Q: Does it have a sapphire crystal?
A: Yes. The Tank Française in this reference is fitted with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal for superior clarity and durability.

Q: Is the watch water-resistant?
A: The Tank Française in steel is typically rated to around 30 metres (3 ATM). As with all vintage/older pieces, water resistance cannot be guaranteed without a recent pressure test. Treat it as splash-resistant only; avoid swimming, showering, or submersion.

Q: How do I set the time (and date if present)?
A: Gently pull the crown: first click for quickset date (on versions with a date at 3 o’clock), second click to set the time. Avoid changing the date between 9 pm and 3 am. Push the crown back in firmly when finished.

Q: What is included with the purchase?
A: This item is listed as “no accessories,” meaning it does not come with the original box or papers. It is sold with A Retro Tale’s full authentication guarantee and secure packaging.

Q: What is the cosmetic condition of this watch?
A: Rated as Very Good (353326). There are scratches on the case, case back and bracelet consistent with careful wear; please review the photos for a close look at its vintage character.

Q: How often should I service it?
A: For quartz models, plan a battery and seal change roughly every 2–3 years to maintain water resistance. A functional check every 5–6 years is recommended to ensure optimal performance. A Retro Tale also provides a 12‑month movement warranty for peace of mind.
