Q: What typically fits inside this belt bag?
A: With approximate dimensions of 23 × 14.5 × 8 cm, it comfortably holds a large smartphone, a small wallet or cardholder, keys and a few small essentials like lipstick or hand sanitiser. A slim sunglasses sleeve may fit without a hard case. Capacity varies with how you pack—please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact sizing.

Q: Can it be worn crossbody as well as on the waist?
A: This model is designed primarily as a belt/waist bag. The chain-and-leather belt strap allows waist or high-hip wear and is typically not long enough for a crossbody carry.

Q: How does the belt strap adjust and what sizes will it fit?
A: The strap adjusts using the chain links to find a comfortable position on the waist or hips. For the best fit, measure where you plan to wear it and compare with the strap measurement shown under Measurements. If you need the exact minimum and maximum circumference, please contact us and we will be happy to assist.

Q: Is the belt strap removable?
A: No. The chain-and-leather belt strap is integrated and not designed to be removed for clutch-style use.

Q: Does it fit an iPhone Pro Max?
A: Yes, most larger smartphones (including Pro/Pro Max sizes in a slim case) fit when placed horizontally, with room for a few small essentials.

Q: What does the serial number indicate about the production period?
A: The 29‑series serial number (29601035) corresponds to production around 2020. Chanel used 8‑digit serial stickers until the 2021 transition to microchipped metal plates; serial numbers indicate a window rather than an exact month.

Q: How should I care for the lambskin leather and resin chain?
A: Keep the bag away from prolonged light, humidity and colour transfer. Wipe gently with a soft, non‑abrasive cloth; to minimise the look of light marks on lambskin, rub very gently in small circular motions. Store upright in a breathable pouch with the chain wrapped in tissue to prevent imprints. Avoid oils, harsh cleaners and overfilling; seek a professional for deep cleaning.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: This piece comes with the serial number tag as listed under product information. If a dust bag, box or other items are not listed there, they are not included.

Q: Where was this bag made?
A: The country of origin label indicates Italy.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts through multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and serials. We guarantee authenticity and can provide additional details on request.
