Q: What typically fits inside this bag?
A: With an approximate body of 20 × 20 × 3 cm, it suits small daily essentials such as a smartphone, compact wallet or cardholder, keys and a few cosmetics. The round profile and slim depth limit bulky items like hard glasses cases or thick power banks. For best results, compare your essentials to the Measurements listed on this page.

Q: Can it be worn crossbody and is the strap adjustable?
A: Yes, the chain-and-leather strap is designed for crossbody or on-shoulder wear. The listed drop is approximately 40 cm, which typically sits at the high hip on many frames. The strap is fixed and not adjustable or removable, so we recommend checking the drop against your own height with a tape measure.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: The bag features a zip closure with a leather tassel pull for quick access. Inside, there is a zipped pocket to secure smaller valuables such as cards or keys.

Q: What is the leather and how should I care for it?
A: This vintage piece is crafted from black quilted lambskin leather with gold-tone hardware. For care, gently wipe with a soft, non-abrasive cloth, avoid products that may alter the finish, and keep away from prolonged light and humidity. Store upright in a breathable dust bag with the chain wrapped to prevent imprints, and avoid overfilling to maintain the round shape.

Q: Does a modern smartphone fit?
A: Most standard smartphones fit comfortably; extra-large devices in bulky cases may be tight due to the curved sides and 3 cm depth. If in doubt, compare your phone’s measurements to the interior space indicated by the bag’s dimensions.

Q: What era is this bag from based on the serial number 0292361?
A: The serial number corresponds to Chanel’s 0‑series, generally produced between 1986 and 1988. As with all vintage Chanel, the serial is one of several points used to date and authenticate a piece.

Q: Are any accessories included with this item?
A: This listing states no accessories are included. Everything provided with the item is always specified under the Accessories section; if an accessory isn’t listed, it is not included.

Q: Can the tassel or hardware be repaired or replaced?
A: Chanel’s after‑sales service (CHANEL & moi) offers care and repairs that are assessed case by case. Warranty coverage applies to bags purchased new from Chanel from April 2021 with proof of purchase; vintage pieces are typically serviced on a paid basis if accepted. Alternatively, reputable handbag restoration specialists can service tassels, zips and hardware on vintage Chanel bags.

Q: Is the lambskin very delicate compared with Caviar leather?
A: Lambskin has a smoother, softer surface that can show scratches and pressure marks more readily than grained Caviar leather. Minor marks can often be softened by lightly buffing with a clean, soft cloth; for deeper scuffs or colour loss, professional care is recommended.

A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes a multi‑point inspection by our in‑house experts, including materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and serial numbers. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and are happy to provide additional details or photos on request.
